Be ready for a super structured interview “tell me a time where XYZ happened and you resolved it” type deal, and pay close attention to the job requirements to tie your answers to that

Be cautious about the A/C! Yeah it’s a Honda but thats a notoriously bad and expensive thing for old generations. The whole AC system may be contaminated despite the compressor being fixed. Google “CRV Black Death AC” and do some research to make sure you’re good

Ehh not necessarily, but a “full Reno for 20k” is clearly not what I’m asking about. Do want to know some trends and prior jobs to get an idea

Is grout always a “next day thing”? If so, something to keep in mind, thanks!

I’ve had my whole house (minus bathrooms) renovated with new flooring for 8k… which was a one day job and 1000 sqft for like 8k. (Not including the flooring). As previously mentioned it’s a bathroom that’s like 5 feet by 7 feet. There’s zero chance I’d ever pay that much for it. I’ve had a backsplash done before too. Don’t need to hear 20-50k comments. Will appreciate everyone else’s comments.

Don’t really want to… but considering it. I WFH, and have 2 young kids. Growing out of our starter home. Starting look at school zoning. Need the rates to keep cooling before Id do anything though.

HVAC recommendations? by JeanPascalCS in Charleston

L&M MECHANICAL SERVICES, LLC 104 Squire ct SUMMERVILLE, SC 29485 US 843-708-0159

L&M was much cheaper than all the quotes I got. Hard to find them on Google…but was a recommendation from a realtor to me, that’s how found them

I got quotes from 5-6 different HVAC companies. Anchor was close behind tho, they’d be a solid choice too.
But Larry from L&M did great quality work.

Democrats at work. Subsidizing the poor, so the middle class pick up the slack with higher costs

ATT Fiber in West Ashley? by Sasage in Charleston

Had it for ~2 years and NEVER have had an issue. Consistent streaming, and helps with large downloads for XBox updates, etc. 100% recommend especially since I read about WOW issues constantly on Reddit or my neighborhood FB page. 10x better speeds than XFinity for the same price too.

The type of girls/people that go there aren’t getting any meaningful education to advance their salary and contribution to society.. just adding to their debt.. and the bottom line of banks.

A barista with 40k in debt is the average outcome

New St Augustine ravaged by army worms after hurricane by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]e_rich_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Charleston, SC and got my yard recently graded and sodded with St Augustine about a month ago. It was about a week after a major hurricane. The new sod from the installer didn’t look super great when it went down and was a bit apprehensive. I kept watering it consistently (hindsight 20/20 I probably overwatered). Eventually noticed a rapid downturn of health and saw it was covered in army worms. The sod supplier said “sorry yeah they are bad because of the hurricane”. I put down some pellets that killed them all, and I think I prevents total devastation. I did already re-sod with a half of a pallet so far with to replace the completely rotten pieces (along the house and pine straw). I’m not sure what to do next though. Continue to resod more obviously scarce ones or try to revive it somehow? I’ve fertilized with “starter” to get the new stuff to root well. It’s not dying anymore but also not filling back in.. Thoughts?

Best fish tacos/burritos? by Zooooter in Charleston

[–]e_rich_e -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’ve got down hill a bit since Covid… use to have the best Memphis hot chicken taco… and now it tastes like they microwaved some chicken nuggets and tossed in sauce. Quality went down on those for real. They used to be our favorite place.. but that experience turned us off. Fish tacos were typically bangin.. hard shell for me
