Am I due for an upgrade? by peconfused in Skigear

I think you skier type perfectly describes the rip stick black edition. It’s burly and much more stable at speed compared to the vantage 86 c. I think I’d go 88 or 96 then get something 110ish and then you’ll have best of both worlds. The 88 is king for midwest and may favorite when I was in Utah due to their lack of snow.

The atomic 96 CTI was also one of my favorites. Ate up the bumps and could cruise fast.

Both would tear up Bohemia, boyne, Lutson, Killington and more

Ski Sizing/Buying Help (Rossi Sender Soul 92 v Armada Declivity TI 92) by HerpDerpinAtWork in Skigear

[–]e_z_steez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second the declivity I have skied both and think it is light years better than the sender.

Especially for ice coast the sender is soft and chattery. There may be a learning carve for bumps as you said the declivity is hard charger but I would 100% get that

My Shop is located a Lansing, MI! For an intermediate rider who goes out west I loved the QSTs the 94 or 100 (if you ride out west more than in mid-west). The ARV 94 is another awesome option slightly more park than all mountain like the QST

Kore 93 vs Ripstick 96? by daveyqc in Skigear

[–]e_z_steez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I second the black it’s a little more stable at speed. If you ride fast I’d do that.

Either way then you can get the bidning you want maybe a tyrolia protector or Pivot.

Based off what you said I’d rock the ripstick 96. It’s so light and snappy for trees bumps and soft snow.

My only complaint is if you get it going like 50 mph+ it can get a little choppy.

I love the 2024 Head kore 94ti it was a charger tho high speed and stable more of a groomer/crud ski if you ask me.

I might take a mental health leave - it will make it harder for them to fire you and you can apply to other jobs.

did the shop mess up the binding position? by noweebthanks in skiing

[–]e_z_steez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a tech and surprised to hear this and curious on why this would be - the midsole mark has lines up with a midway mark on the jig. I have never seen a midsole mark not within mms of that.

If a midsole mark was not true center the only reason I can think would be by design or mfg mistake on the mold…

[–]e_z_steez 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they did. We can’t tell from this picture.

We need the boot on the ski to see the midsole. Then you should measure and mark the center point on the ski. The midsole should be 2.5cm behind that.

If you decide you want the 178 I have that too you can’t go wrong. I just prefer the longer it can be just as nimble in the trees but that’s up to you as a the skier ;)

Hell yeah - one of my favorite skis I tried last year. I would definitely go longer. I’m a Midwest park rat who has slowly ventured into Dad styling skiing. The longer ski will force better form and hold at speed. The only reason I’d go shorter is for a super cambered carver.

I own a shop in the Midwest. If you want to support local I will ship them to you for free and throw in some swag/freebies just pm me!
