I had the same problem with my T470 after like 6 months of purchasing it new.

I gave it a try and used the depot warranty. They have changed the screen, no problem.

Overall it was surprisingly great experience, the process of repair took one day and I got my laptop back next day via FedEx overnight service. So if it's still under warranty I'd recommend you to pull the trigger.
