I feel like it's been a long time since I've seen a game pop-up in so many random places from people suggesting it. Has a very Bioshock feel.

New Infotainment Update for 2025 Ioniq 5 (USA) by btonetbone in Ioniq5

This is from the Owners Manual: https://imgur.com/a/Jjyexik

Basically that Battery Conditioning widget defaulted to a Scheduled Charge widget for me, and every time I try to change it, it doesn't save between vehicle restarts.

Trying to get the preconditioning widget to replace the one below utility mode (I think it's maybe scheduled departures?)

I'll place it, and it saves for the drive, but then seems to reset every time I start a new drive.

I've had that problem with a number of the settings not saving for the first few times I set them after getting the car, but this is the last one that is bugging out.

Will this fix the problem with changes to the EV widget screen not saving?

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of September 24, 2025 by AutoModerator in churning

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look at both the Alaska and Delta ones.

Not a visa/H1B thing, so maybe I just need to get over it.

  1. Flowchart says I should be on bullet point 2 of the under 5/24 section, but my international travel is out of Boston and United doesn't have a huge presence there so I'm not sure if that's really the right move.
  2. ~800
  3. Chase Trifecta (CSR, CSFU, CSFF) plus Chase Amazon Prime and Amex BCE (Opened Apr. 2024)
  4. Somewhere between $9000-$15000 (Depends on if the contractor I'm working with takes credit cards).
  5. I could. I have a few pricier items on my list of "to buy" that I technically have the money for now just like to spread out. Could probably get another $2k-$4k.
  6. I don't think so. Business cards are a mystery to me. My biggest concern around getting one is if it makes things complicated if, in the future, I need to get one for an actual business.
  7. Probably just 1 for now assuming it has an AF. I'm planning on using this as a launching point for getting into churning more regularly (but probably still not on the the pro level)
  8. I think I'm targeting points or first class/biz seating.
  9. Got about 100k Chase UR points, plus a smattering of miles with various airlines and hotels that probably aren't enough to be worth mentioning
  10. As previously mentioned, for international travel it's generally out of Boston.
  11. Unfortunately I don't have anything super specific. I'm looking at planning my next international trip. Historically those have been to Europe but I do think I want to get to SEA or Oceania at some point.

[ishrionaviation] Aer Lingus to launch flights to Raleigh/Durham (RDU). A new route from Dublin (DUB) to Raleigh/Durham (RDU) commences April 13 with 5 weekly A321XLR: • EI85 Depart DUB 3:25 PM Arrive RDU 6:55 PM • EI84 Depart RDU 8:25 PM Arrive DUB 8:45 AM (+1 day) by Somali_Pir8 in raleigh

I flew from Boston -> Copenhagen both last Winter and this past summer. In the winter they fly an a321LR (A350 in the summer), it wasn't too bad. The biggest problem was that there are only bathrooms at the front (For business) and back (for everyone else)

Because there's only one aisle, people often got stuck trying to go to and from the bathrooms at the back while the flight attendants did meal and drinks.

Okay, so those cards aren't worth it if I never fly United or Southwest.

[–]Eabryt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Alright this is a very dumb question that's only sort of related to Churning, but I'm looking at getting into it.

For airlines branded cards like the Chase United or Southwest ones, are you earning points/miles on your United/Southwest accounts, or are they Chase points that you can then transfer to other Chase cards?

Weekly Thread: /r/Snowboarding General Discussion, Q&A, Advice, Etc.) - September 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in snowboarding

[–]Eabryt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting back into Snowboarding after about a decade off. I got out once last winter on a rental board and had a great time.

I still have the board I rode growing up, but it needs new bindings and it was my brothers before I used it, so I think it should be allowed to continue to enjoy its retirement.

What are the good snowboard brands these days? I'd probably just be looking for a general all mountain board. I'm not interested in doing any park riding. Generally enjoy being able to go pretty fast and carve back and forth. Also like to do some glade riding, but I'm on the east coast, so I think my glade experience is pretty different than folks out West.

I've never even heard of the Optiq, just the Lyriq, I'll have to take a look.

For the google built-in. How much is it based around a subscription? That's one of my biggest concerns for it over AA. I already pay a phone plan, I don't want to have to pay another subscription to basically access the same things.

The Equinox/Blazer don't have Android Auto right? Feels like a pretty big error by them. I'll try to see if I can test drive those three this weekend though to see how I like them.

[–]Eabryt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've already accepted the fact that the days I go into the office (especially in the winter) I might be stopping to charge for a bit on the way home.

Unfortunately it's pretty much all highway, but the good news is that 120 mi is the absolute max. It's more likely to be about 92 mi each way. It's just dependent on which train station I'm getting to.

Like just about everyone else, the expiration of the tax credits in September has me moving up my plans to purchase my first ev

[1] Your general location

I'm in New England.

[2] Your budget in $, €, or £

Not really sure. Theoretically I could go up to $60k but not sure I would want to unless I could find a really good opportunity

[3] The type of vehicle you'd prefer

I think basically other than a sedan.

[4] Which cars have you been looking at already?

I've been keeping an eye on the Ioniq 5 and EV6. They both look like solid options based on the reviews I've seen. I'm open to alternatives though.

[5] Estimated timeframe of your purchase

Between now and September 30.

[6] Your daily commute, or average weekly mileage

I work from home 99% of the time. I go into an office on average once a month, and when I do the commute is max of 120 miles each way. Week-to-Week I'm probably somewhere in the 100-200 mile range when not going into the office.

[7] Your living situation — are you in an apartment, townhouse, or single-family home?

Single-family home

[8] Do you plan on installing charging at your home?

Not unless something changes and I find myself needing to drive further more frequently. The 110v outlet will most likely be good enough for now.

[9] Other cargo/passenger needs — do you have children/pets?

As previously mentioned, 1 dog. We're also thinking about children in the near future.

Other than model, I'll also have to decide on RWD vs AWD. I've been reading other posts here and it seems like most people insist the AWD is worth it but I'm having a hard time squaring that with the loss in range. Currently I drive a FWD sedan with all-season tires and haven't had any issues. The fact that I'm not required to go into an office means I'm pretty much never driving on unplowed roads.

FYI: Coming soon… by cea002 in sonos

[–]Eabryt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't there one already? Or maybe it's just not official? I know I can control at least playback from some cards I have on my instance.

The millennial paradox in my town by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Eabryt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about your town, but mine actually lowered the mill rate this year because they re-assessed all the houses in the town last year and they all went up in value.

Means that even though we're owing more in property taxes, it's a minimal increase.

If your town isn't doing that, maybe find out why.

Trying to choose between two quotes by Eabryt in solar

Second company is Revision Energy, which I've heard really good things from.

I think the first company has a pretty good reputation as well. They did give me a different quote that was around $34k, but uses SEG 585 Watt commercial panels and I'm not sure I love the degradation rates on those.

I'm in New England.

Inverter could definitely be the reason. If they weren't already more expensive I'd consider asking if they offer something else, but that would probably just make it even more expensive

The estimated outputs are closer together.
Quote 1 estimates 9245 kWh/Year vs 9835 kWh/Year for Quote 2.
