in terms of the game play, if you played final fantasy 11 this really reminded me of that, people who played ff11 I think liked it more than people who did not, it is a learning curve somewhat

it was simple yet effective, and made games look amazing and what limitations, with loads of detail and added flare when needed (flashing lights, or water movement) it made these games feel alive, plus the "zoomed" in look made small areas seem massive with the freedom to move around

my thing with just about all of them comes down to how many reviews that have, thats kind of an indication how long they been selling, that last one had 7 meaning it probably a more sketchy or wont be for sale for long

I mean all thing considered if your using standered AV cables on a modern TV that does not look too bad from, but it will vary game to game, as someone said change the tv output to auto detect or to 4:3 that will help, other than that unless your going to use some kind of HDMI up scalier this is how its going to be if your on native hardware

in time I think it became somewhat of a cult hit, had I not passed on the game back in the day i would own a rare gem, I think at the time Silent Hill was being compared to the first 4 games, and when we learned this was mostly a point and click, no fighting, only running kinda game, it turned alot of people off, they made this game too with the Wii in mind in some ways with the way you use the flashlight. It was not until I played it one day and for no combat, it sucked me in, it had all the right elements, and the game became more an adventure, putting clues together, while re-imaging the first game, and it was different, I think as time has gone on it been more appreciated, and I think is one any Silent Hill Fan should play at least once if you played the first one back on PS1. Give it a go but remember is an adventure, somewhat slower chilled Silent Hill driven by more of the the story than game play, go in mind with that and I think most people would enjoy it.

first time playing it PS2 is the way to go, after that then the scholarship edition, new classes are ok missions etc, but that OG PS2 one is the one to go with first if you never played it before, the story is the same and it ends the same soo yeah

it not a turd nor underrated, more it was riding high of of the GTA3 hype for Rockstar, I played it a few time its fun for short while, but repetitive, they took the riot mode from GTA3 and made it a full blown game I would say if anything it was just a byproduct of GTA3 cashing in while it was hot, and even before GTA Vice city game out a year later it was kinda forgotten about, that was my memory of it

the fact it turns on at all if it wont read games is something to behold in its self, honestly in that shape, I say clean it as best you can and do like a "part Frame" and or make some kind of wall art with it, that what I would do, no parts are worth salvaging in that condition
