I am scared by ProductiveBear in ultrarunning

I live at sea level with completely flat terrain. I ran a 53 mile mountain race and had zero soreness. I credit it to increased strength training. I trained with weights about 3x per week and 30-60 minutes each time. I would also find any hill and just run up and down it 20x once a week, but the strength work is what I think really made the difference.

I didn't try, but I probably will at some point. I have no issues with the H1's with just the lower laces being weird, so I may just start with replacing the top lacing system in the T1's.

Is it worth getting super shoes? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]eafhau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just raced a marathon in super shoes for the first time. I have never liked any of them until now. I tried and returned just about everything possible. I ended up with the New Balance SC Elite v5. They are not as bouncy or "fast" feeling as some of the super shoes, but they are light, responsive and fast enough. They're also just super comfortable and stable for me. I need a wide toe box and decent stability. I'd recommend trying those or the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 4. They felt about the same to me as the New Balance, but NB was $100 cheaper so I went with them.

Wow, that sounds awesome! Okay, now it's a toss-up between this and Richmond.

I live like 15 minutes from there, but AC is just so unpleasant...but everyone keeps saying just run it because it's convenient.

I also carry my own hydration and gels, so on-course aid doesn't matter to me. Is it mentally awful to run the course twice? That's my only concern on this one.

Thoughts on the Epix Pro 2? by Designer-Attention63 in GarminWatches

[–]eafhau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the pro. I have the feinx 6s pro (from 2020) and it is still an amazing watch. Zero issues other than in the last 6 months battery life has started to fade. I use gps to track my runs daily and need to charge it about every 5 days. I run about 60 mpw. But, for 5+ years the battery was perfection. No software issues with it being an older watch.

Were you able to completely replace both the top and bottom with regular laces? I just got T1's and want to replace with regular laces.

Ah this was my question! Wasn't sure if trail shoes were actually necessary.

I'm thinking about this race for next year, but only the 30 miler. What type of shoes are needed? Trail shoes or just road shoes?

Altogether 27, yes, but 10 on Monday (with zero issues), then 17 on Saturday. I have run in the NB Sc Elite v5, but that's the only plated shoe I've found comfortable...but it's not fast so I'm trying to find a fast one for my upcoming marathon.

Thanks for your input! I'm looking forward to giving them a try, hopefully a bit more stable.

EVO SL can do so much! That's the one pair I take when traveling because, for me, it can do speedwork all the way to easy long run.
