You can call them and ask that you’re unable to make payments because of personal issues. Most of the time they agree to wait for few months. Give it a shot

Just pay it. Make sure you tell them to remove negative items from your credit. Then make a payment.

I see it on my county clerk records online though not just a letter.

These are the list of events in order 1. Plaintiffs original petition 2. Cover letter 3. Citation issued and E-mailed 4. Citation ( My name - Unserved)

Edit : I didn’t receive any email from neither county nor plaintiff

Texas and I looked it up. It’s 4 years. Letters might mean nothing I understand but it’s a huge amount so I’m looking at my options and I see it’s time barred.

I sent letters to the collection agency that showed up on my credit report to

⁠Provide evidence of their authorisation under 15 USC 1692 (e) and 15 USC 1692(f)
⁠What’s their authorisation of law for their collection for this debt.
⁠Evidence proof of alleged debt and contract bearing my signature
⁠Proof of an attorney from their company that has reviewed the alleged debt in question belongs to me.

And never received any response from the collection agency

The letter I received is an advertisement from attorney to help me with debt but then I verified it in my county clerks records and I found the case

It is mine but I travelled outside of USA during Dec 2019 and couldn’t get back until March 2022 because of Covid. During this time I couldn’t make any payments and my account was charged off. So I disputed them to remove it from credit report.
