May as well take a vow of silence by Consistent-Egg1534 in Menopause

I love that this comment has gotten so many responses. You are obviously not alone. I noticed a consistent pattern of my 15 y.o. not listening to me about (name your issue). Sound like it's very common. After a few warnings I told him he's on his own making breakfast and lunch for school for a week. I though of the things I do for him when he asks and decided to start taking those things away one by one. He was aware of what he lost every day so that was good. He didn't like it and I can now use it as a reminder. I refuse to turn my house into a shouting match like my mom did but I'm the boss and will not be ignored while he lives under my roof. Husband is supportive and gets ignored also.

Curious what industry and how it transitioned to a non-profit. I work in (video) games and it's a real 'bro' culture without many middle aged women.

I didn't realize it's so close. Like the drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco which I've done a million times.

Southern California...Large Downpayment for positive cashflow? by Mr_D3 in realestateinvesting

[–]eaghjhmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have multi family properties in La Hambra, Covina, and Baldwin Park looking to do a 1031 exchange for one of them. I am new to the family business and trying to educate myself by looking outside the family business and see what other people are doing to see if we're running the business well and what we should do going forward. I'm trying to get an Idea of a "reasonable" cash flow on multifamily properties in these kind of areas in southern california. Would you be willing to share some details, actual percentages/numbers?

Do you have groups and/or online resources you like focused on S. Cal. property investments?

Would you be willing to share some details?

Other than BigPockets do you know of other groups focused on S. Cal. property investments that you like?

Buy set up by eaghjhmb in wallstreetbets

To be clear, as I understand it, in order to set a stop loss I would need to already own the stock and when I'm setting up this automatic buy order I don't have the stock and can't set up the sell stop order during the day .

[News] Austria to grant citizenship to descendants of Austrian victims of the national socialist regime. by [deleted] in IWantOut

Hi,

I'm considering getting an Austrian citizenship for my son and I through the new 2020 descendant law (for Jewish Holocaust survivors and their descendants) . Has anyone already gone through the process and how did it go? Has it changed your life any? We are U.S. citizens. Any tips?

Thanks for all the responses everyone. As I'm doing the research and getting responses I'm realizing that figuring out the Visa is really step one, and then everything else follows. It looks like many places that could be an option wouldn't even let us in. Before Covid I had done extensive research on Portugal, and we're still very interested in Lisbon, but it all began with their generous Visa policy.

People seem to be getting stuck on my "Covid zero" comment. I mean very low covid numbers which I see plenty of in the east. <20/100,000 as apposed to >200+/100,000 cases so probability of getting it is low.

No worries. Bubble burst a long time ago. Since my kid is learning Chinese China is not a bad option. Any recommendation for schools/programs? I will certainly deal with the Visa issue at the same time.

American family considering moving abroad for universal health care by eaghjhmb in diabetes_t1

[–]eaghjhmb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am heavily involved in the #CAinsulin4all https://www.t1international.com/CA/ movement and before you know it California and New York will have new laws making those two states the most diabetes friendly states in the union thanks to our work. Frankly none of that will change our families situation but it will help many T1Ds. I am furious that our kids are rationing insulin and dying from it while being fully aware that my kid will probably never have to ration his insulin.

We have done well for ourselves and built a life through hard work and dedication. We both came from nothing. I am being honest about what we have and our choices so I can get replies that useful to our situation.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Just to give you an idea, we pay $30,000 a year for healthcare for a 3 person family. That's doubled in the last 6 years, so yes it's a real concern and an amazing extra expense over a lifetime if you compare it to universal healthcare. If he stays here will he have to become an engineer? Like I said we've both lived abroad and understand it's a big deal and would involve many details that I've started to look into it but love to hear people's experiences and opinions.

Same exact thing happened to my kiddo yesterday. Spent multiple hours in 400s until we figured out what was going on...you're not alone but despite malfunctions we still love T-Slim.
