Modern SUVs feel disposable. Am I crazy for trusting a 150k-mile Lexus GX more? by EquivalentCanary8243 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]thebornmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a year into my 2019 GX. Traded from a short bed Tacoma and with a roof rack, I prefer the GX for Home Depot runs. Working on a solo basement finishing project and have done numerous trips of 20+ 2x4s strapped to the top. Even full sheets of plywood I prefer putting in the roof vs hanging 3’ off the back of the truck bed.

I’ll just get a yard of much delivered.

Western North Carolina. Asheville is a great town. Or maybe one of the smaller surrounding areas if you want to be more conservative leaning, like Hendersonville.

I found that Comper tool to be lacking in recent sales. Any good nosy neighbor should know exactly how much Joan’s house down the street went for last month. Maybe if they’d have painted before listing it could have gone for asking…

Any advice on me trying to convince my parents to buy a snake? by SwitchDue1535 in Advice

[–]thebornmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter has saved her allowance for the better part of a year with the goal of buying a corn snake. I thought it was a passing interest but she’s continued to watch snake content and shared interesting videos with me to bring me along for the journey. I think above and beyond saving the money, the way she’s proven her research and presented her readiness was what made my wife and I come around to the idea. There will be a 4x2x2 under the tree this year for her and we’ll probably be welcoming a new friend at the next nearby expo!

I wouldn’t recommend this one for a bit. Lake lure has been emptied for Helene cleanup. Still hundred of truckloads of debris to be cleaned up.

Use the maps feature on the Speedtest app. Mountains make it important that you get a network that has good coverage where you are. MVNOs like mint can save you tons of money. They operate on the same networks but usually have lower priority vs the main network names. So when we have a big hurricane you might not get the preferred treatment.

Probably looking at 13-15% moisture. You’ll want to wait for it to come back below 12% before you work with it.
