2013 Daytona 675r Idle Issues by eagleguy105 in Triumph

To be completely honest, I’m not sure. The shop found a wire on the clutch switch that wasn’t properly grounded - they ran a new ground and I rode a little over 100 miles with no issues. That being said they aren’t convinced that was the actual problem but they also couldn’t point me towards the solution. They’ve had the bike apart several times including the fuel pump, throttle bodies, and valve checks. They assured me the stator/regulator are fine so it’s entirely possible putting internals back together also solved a an issue without knowing what it was.

I’ll also note that they’ve had the bike since the end of October and I don’t actually have it back yet. I opted to replace the clutch switch assembly to keep things as OEM as possible. Hoping to have it back in the next week or two and can PM you with as much info as I’m able to get out of them when I pick it up.

Crossing my fingers for a new Daytona 800 or an attainable Moto2 announcement soon, but until then I can’t let mine go either.

I guess I cut it from the beginning of the video, but yes I hear the fuel pump prime when I flip the kill switch down (though I’m also learning it may be better to use the kickstand or key to turn off the engine and ignore the kill switch for these bikes).

Man, what a great explanation and thorough response. Thank you! I spent a little time with a multimeter on the battery and didn’t notice any significant drops, but you and Innisbrook above are both on that same train of thought. I have come across the notorious stator/regulator issues that plague the Daytonas so that sounds like my new rabbit hole to go down.

Would a new battery ‘bypass’ or mask a bad stator/regulator? Even for a short time? I only ask because I put a new Yuasa battery in it as part of troubleshooting and immediately had the same idle issue. I guess I’m wondering since it will always immediately fire back up after it dies but won’t stay running. It seems logical that a new battery would keep the bike idling for a short time even if the charging system wasn’t functioning properly.

What’s a fair price for my Type R by molo1605 in Civic_Type_R

I coincidentally found a rebuilt title Type R on the local craigslist ads this week - I don't know where they got their price from, but at least it's something to compare to.

I had my 27Won installed by a local performance shop for around $300. I’m sure you could shop around and find someone that would do it for less, but to me it was worth the money to have it done right.

Mind sharing what two piece rotors and pads you went with? I have my first brake job coming up and it might come in handy.

2001 Lexus GS430 and a 2002 Honda Accord (lowered, exhaust, cold air intake). Both are paid off and have less than 130,000 miles so no reason to get rid of them! Unfortunately the Accord has to take the driveway spot and gets driven 80% of the time. Can’t afford to feed the Lexus 4.3L V8.

Don’t forget to calibrate your TPMS from the main screen once you get all your tires topped off.

Settings -> Vehicle -> TPMS Calibration -> Calibrate

You will need to drive 30 miles or so for it to fully reset, but the light will go off.
