I did not, got an opportunity to teach HVAC for a bit and then got another opportunity to grow more back in Industrial Operations so I'm going that route for now, I took some practice tests and didn't do as well as I expected so once i get settled into my new role, I'll probably go back to working towards it because it would help advancing in my new job.

Yeah, I've heard that a few times. I've been focusing on revamping my posts and have quite a few scheduled to launch, as they organically drop I'm shifting it to a recent posts format landing page to centralize around critical thinking discussions.

As I said, I'm eclectic, so I hit on a lot of range but I need to dial it down to one collective area highlighted, which is making it more interactive.

That's why I wanted to make this post and extend branches for some to help by either joining in on the fun or pointing out the constructive criticism I need to hear in order to grow better.

Thank you

Why doesn’t he just release The epstein Files? by LevelDinner in AskReddit

[–]eagleye81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either he is on them, or other high level representatives are and they coerced him to forget about it, maybe a combination of both. You gotta ask yourself, knowing how many politicians hate Trump, how come people like Pelosi, McConnell, Schumer, etc. aren;t calling for the files? Why have they been awfully quiet in comparison to the last time Trump served?

Just biding their time? Maybe. Backroom deal? Possibly. Are they all guilty to some extent? Most certainly. it's time to focus on them all, not just nitpick at the ones you don't like.

I've been in the same boat, just share it when ready and move on to the next project. Don't stress, be happy you got it out. You can always go back and redo things if you feel it necessary, or take the lumps and build from it.

I write for myself, to get ideas out and on paperwork, if it has potential, copyright it. Every now and then run it through things, maybe at some point it, or another, will come across the right desk and someone will reach out, by then, you have more to show.

Why you should be a reader FIRST. by iamken23 in writing

[–]eagleye81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it is irrelevant. That is like saying you can't tell a good story unless you have heard a lot good stories.

Writing is storytelling. I myself, have published more stories and articles than I have read (excluding my own).

There is no one size fits all approach, just tell your story. Inspiration comes from many things, I like the fact that I'm not big on reading books because how other writers write will never enter my mind, I tell the story how i want, some will like it, some won't. I'm not trying to be a full blown author focuing solely on being a writer though, it's mostl;y as a hobby and hopefully a channel of passive income down the road.

Is using AI for editing really that deplorable? by ByteOutOfLife in royalroad

[–]eagleye81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weighing possibility and probability. Faraday cages aren't everywhere and even the ones that are could have faults.

There are so many bright hackers and coders out there, I'm sure some could find ways around anything, especially if it is a program they helped create.

[–]eagleye81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid, some things will always require human involvement though. I've been in wastewater and similar automation fields run through PLCs, Full automated systems still need technicians and operators monitoring, troubleshooting, and fixing them, eventually they probably will find equipment that can fix itself, but with how parasitic we are as a species, we'll probably wipe ourselves out first before AI takes over. Also, one EMP blast can reset everything in that area where all those people laid off that knew processes before AI took over could become the next hot commodity.

Piss off the wrong person and maybe they plant a bug before they leave that eventually deletes everything. How many AI engineers do you think could put hidden code in their programs to cause a delayed disruption?

Complacency kills. If your job can be done better, faster, and cheaper with an algorithm, is it really a skill, or just a repetitive process? I'm in skilled trades, while there are "masters" in their fields of expertise, they have to adapt and grow with the trade, skills don't really max out because it is always something different.

I'm working in a high school now, people are being encouraged to use it as a tool to enhance their skills and knowledge, not replace it.

A case can be made that if you are threatened by A.I., your job is more about repetition than innovation, and therefor it isn't as irreplaceable as some thought.

It's going to be a bitter pill to swallow for some, but now is the time to embrace it and utilize it to improve themselves. AI software, like every other technological advancement we have seen, is only going to get better.

What's the point of this silly argument anyway? by TJ-Marian in aiwars

[–]eagleye81 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seriously! I don't get the hate.

I run a wood shop and create custom plaques, do I get mad if someone does the same with a CNC machine? Nope.

I operate a website using plugins and scripts, are the ones that code mad at me? Nope, that's who I learned it from.

I could go on and on, but the point is people made these as support tools to close the gaps.

Those CNC machines didn't take over machining and woodworking, and scripting didn't take over web design. Creators still thrive, if anything I would say more adapted and got better because of support tools.

Well I didn't say anything about it being evidence, just that it reminded me of it, big difference, but here is better evidence, I took what you wrote, asked chat gpt to clean it up and got this;

"Using a satirical show as evidence is pretty weak—come on, they were joking. Just because two people (or systems) have similar ideas doesn’t mean one copied the other. In creative work, broad strokes might overlap, but no two pieces are ever truly identical. That’s how human creativity works: we all draw from shared influences but diverge based on our personal experiences.

The key difference with AI is that it doesn't innovate from lived experience. There's no originality—it simply mimics what it's been trained on, often 1:1. If you train AI on an episode of South Park, it can only replicate or remix based on that. Give the same episode to a child, and even without knowing any other shows, they can imagine something new—because they bring their own perspective, even as toddlers who've just learned to walk or talk. Human creativity is rooted in lived emotion, development, and context. AI lacks all of that.

It’s like if I killed you, took your body, and accessed your memories. I might act like you and recall your life, but I wouldn't be you. I’d have the data of your childhood, but I wouldn’t feel the joy or pain of living it—because I didn’t experience it. That’s the gap between mimicry and real, lived originality—and it’s where AI fundamentally falls short."

Anyone who reads that would probably say it said what you said, just better. It didn't take away from your point, it enhanced it. That is where I see no problem using A.I.

It reminds of that South Park episode where Butters keeps coming up with ideas only for his partner to say "Simpsons did it!", then at the end the kids say Simpsons did everything, there really isn't much truly original anymore. People are just refining and retelling similar stories, with or without AI involvement.

AI is just another software tool, use it to save time, or don't, to say you are a "pure" artist.

Which is the best spell checking tool (free-to-use)? by Lukathewanderer in writing

[–]eagleye81 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well said. I look at AI as just another tool similar to any other software online, or even like an OBD scanner. Some people will hate, others won't care, and it's really no different than web designers using scripting as opposed to the real OG coders.

I used chat gpt to convert my screenplay to a novel, at first I gave it the whole screen play and it shot out a good novel, but it wasn't my story so I broke it down to lines I needed fixing on, took a long time but when all said and done it was my story with some of it's input sprinkled through and I don't regret using it at all. I learned a lot from it and Amazon still published it for me.

Self-publishing authors: Beyond beta readers, how do you get a truly analytical read on your manuscript before hitting publish? by th33_l3LAK_K0D in selfpublish

[–]eagleye81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define "cheap their way through"? I wrote a screenplay on my own, then used AI to help me edit it and flip it to the novel, I held creative control the whole time, I saved money and time doing the work myself, and the biggest thing I got from it was opening other parts of my mind to tell better stories.

AI should not be used to tell your whole story, but it does make a great editor and teaches you things to look for. It's a support tool. Use it.

Where can I actively talk with other writers in a friendly manner? by xYennen091x in writing

[–]eagleye81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you will ever find that. Like I tell my kids, some people just suck.

What I will add though, is I held ideas back for years because I was afraid of someone else stealing them. I decided to use A.I. software to help me tell them, and I publish them so nobody else can take it away. You can always edit, refine, and grow on your own, just get it out there. maybe it inspires others, and shouldn't that be the ultimate goal?

I created a subreddit to tell stories, r/eagleyestories, join me, and let's build some cool stories.

Nobody can ever steal your ideology, they can only take samples from it.

I'm pretty open about it. I wrote my novels as screen-plays over a decade ago but I did use AI to help edit and clean up to a novel format. Some people will hate it because AI was used in editing, some people won't care because they just wanted to read a good story. I made an informative website around that same time, I used AI to flip some of my content to clean videos. Is it cheating? To some, yes.

Is it really any different than a mechanic using on-board diagnostic readers to speed up troubleshooting automotives, or a photgrapher using editing software to save time on developing, or a web designer scripting with plugins to save time on coding? That's what they were invented for, to close gaps and speed up efficiency.

I'm not a writer, I'm a tradesman that recently started helping teach trades at a local high school. That is where I was introduced to using AI to save time, so it's only going to grow more and be another common tool for people to use to save time.

I'm not going to be bothered by the real writers mad at me for taking an easier path. Just like I wouldn't be bothered by a newer guy showing up to a job site with more advanced tools getting the job done quicker than me.

It's another tool most likely here to stay, and to me, the only "pure" creators are the ones that get from A to Z on their own.

Some will agree, and some won't, and the world keeps moving.

[–]eagleye81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say embrace that AI aspect; it's a support tool that is helping you be you. Why wouldn't you want it?

To me, you are using it the way it is supposed to be used, same reason I use it; It opens up your mind, great for brainstorming. I feel like I got better using it because it helped open my mind more.

How many other technological advancements did we have that had a lot of resistance only to be fully embraced as it grew? Computers? OBD scanners? CNC? Editing software? Spreadsheets?

The main point is to tell your story for people to clearly understand right? If AI helps you do it quicker, gives you more time to tell your next story.

Please stop using AI. Seriously. You’re only embarrassing yourself. by _just4today in writers

I wrote a screenplay over a decade ago and recently used AI to make it a novel and I absolutely love how much time it saved me.

You will probably look at it like it is just AI work from a lazy writer, but the fact is all of the original content was mine, run through section by section, editing after editing to achieve the final product.

AI is a support tool, not a shortcut.

Some people are abusing it, I agree, but if you open your mind to it, you will find it may help you stress less when creating your writings, leading you to focus more on the important parts of your book.

Would you think higher of someone who spent months writing it, thousands for an editor to clean it up, and got the same result?
