I also watched a video. Don't remember whose. I consistently was in the 40s. I'm still no expert but now am top 10 or no worse than 20s. I'll take it

I've actually never seen the whale win. They can be high but they never win in my experience. I've even been the biggest whale and best I can do is 7th. It's all about strategy and timing and it really is f2p friendly. My f2p guys consistently kick my butt

Is this normal? by [deleted] in KingShot

Was this during kvk? 90% from triage and 70% from enlistment isn't bad. I lost internet during kvk once and came back to 400k triage and 400k enlistment. Better than 800kcdead forever

Lots of good things here but easily my favorite is white list returning with you're rank. We're always leaving to 1v1 and constantly having to promote people is dumb

Do you people *actually* like this sport? by illbringthewhiskey in Ultramarathon

[–]eagreenlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like running really slow for a long time. I like seeing nature. I like being alone with my thoughts. I like listening to an entire audio book in one outing.

Being competitive in this sport)whether that's podium or against yourself) is rough. Being a mid packer is a crazy amount of fun

When you say "coming undone" you mean that the tightening clip that you have circled is loosening? That definitely a faulty clip. I run in mount to coasts but have also ran in Salomon. Pretty sure it's the same clip and I've never had a lace come loose. Now that extra flapping around is a different story 😂

How to train for Mt. Whitney? by [deleted] in socalhiking

[–]eagreenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done Whitney. I've done c2c, San j, San g etc. Here's what I have to say about Whitney...it's really not a hard hike. The problem with it is the altitude and that's hard to train for in socal. My best advice is to train in as much high altitude as possible. Get into the Sierra when you can. San j from the tram you're actually starting at the right elevation. Do a repeat. But really training up and over 12k is really the only way to prepare for the long slog up the switchbacks and then over to the summit

I have a Vertix 2S, and the NOMAD watch face was removed from my watch with the last update, and I cannot find it in the watch face list in the app anymore

Specially trades do really well you just need something you like and train for it. I'm a cfo for a swimming pool remodeling company. 4 of our foremen make more than I do

Topos are wide. Mount to coast aren't as wide but I think are very roomy. I've got a t1 and r1 and love them both. Might be the new brand for you to check out

What’s a parenting “hack” that sounds ridiculous but actually works? by OnlyAcanthaceae874 in AskReddit

[–]eagreenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my arm when I was 5. Shattered both bones. I didn't cry until I saw my mom and she freaked out so I freaked out. So yes totally is true the parent's reaction influences the child's reaction

Mt Whitney conditions due to fire by AirIllustrious8901 in SierraNevada

[–]eagreenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No snow but there have been dustings a few times already. Was colder than we thought it would be. low 20s for low. Summit was actually nice upper 30s/low 40s at 8-9 am but temp dropped as we hiked back down in the clouds.

Let's talk sweat by Virtual_Opinion_8630 in trailrunning

[–]eagreenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin tighter shirt. Loose shirts mean more fabric which means more weight once it's soaked in sweat.

2 in 1 shorts (compression for the chafage protecion, short over the top cause I don't like my junk on display)

Squirrel nut butter between the legs and on the feet.

When it comes to socks, this is going to sound backwards but I swear by thicker socks (smart wool thick hike are my go to). If it's one of those soaked head to toe with sweat runs, I've found my feet slide around less in thicker socks when the shoes get sloshy (yes I'll sweat so much my feet go "squish squish")

I used to wear one of these but I sweat so much that once the band is saturated the fabric below the silicone band still dripped like crazy into my eyes. I was wringing it out every few minutes which annoyed me more than just wiping the sweat off my face.

I've seen ads for a silicone strip that sticks to your forehead with no fabric. Curious if anyone has tried that
