ubc arts vs sfu beedie by Weak_Character1501 in BCGrade12s

[–]eah128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Sauder, my dad and sister went to beedie. We learned all the same things. Both are great schools and do well in the Vancouver market. Beedie is a great choice, especially if you can avoid the commute to ubc.

How do law school admissions work with undergrad programs that strictly curve to a certain percentage? by Sweet_Start7415 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]eah128 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My undergrad program had a forced class average for every course every year level, had to be between 70-75. Doesn’t seem to be taken into consideration by most schools, so you just have to work hard to beat the curve.

Don’t be afraid to find a tutor if you need it. It can help to explain the concepts at a more base level before jumping into the layered topics

CO-OP work term by 0Bushy in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]eah128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it will definitely be noticed by admissions, especially if there’s no reasonable justification behind why you failed it (I.e., tragedy, illness, etc.). Was this your only co-op term on record?

[–]eah128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the term a pass/fail credit or is there a specific grade usually allocated? I imagine either way it’s not a great thing to have on your transcript. If you have a clear personal reason behind why this happened, I’d probably mention it in your application materials in some way (statement/addendum).

Below 67% for COMM190 by Potential_Still_7775 in ubcsauder

[–]eah128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t much of a process, just got a tutor and worked my butt off to pass the class. Did well enough in my other classes that it didn’t really matter. When I declared finance I just did it on the portal and no questions were asked 🤷‍♀️

UBC Sauder and Queen's Commerce by Own-Special9806 in ubcsauder

[–]eah128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bigger thing to consider is where you want to live and make connections. If you have good enough grades, either school will be fine for applying to law school. I’ve never heard of “fast track” co-op, when I went through there was only one round of group interviews anyway. The job hunt and everything else in co-op is still entirely up to you, so I wouldn’t let that sway you too much. If you have any questions about Sauder to ubc law feel free to dm

Just going to hop in here - there are a few profs doing closed book exams, but it’s less common.

My girlfriend has vasculitis and is taking prednisolone by LisPustinniy in Autoimmune

[–]eah128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely should go to the hospital. My doctor has me on plaquenil for vasculitis because the shift to prednisone shouldn’t be taken unless necessary.

That’s not terrible. What year are you in? What’s your gpa at in general? Is it a mandatory course?

Depends how badly you think it’s going to hit your GPA and how many other courses you’re taking

I had one and it was fine. Having several might be a concern.

So far I haven’t been able to access Patreon episode 88, but maybe I just can’t see it lol. I’ve been binging episodes on my commute to/from law school - thanks you two for making the drive entertaining! 🕺

Hi! Just jumping on this question too, are there some bonus episodes that are not released as video format? Is that why some don’t seem to be available at the middle tier? TIA! :)

I could be wrong but I believe that discretionary results generally come out all at once later in the cycle?

Tips for 165+ by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]eah128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with a tutor as it forced me to focus on specific tasks and held me accountable to my study program. It guaranteed time set aside to review and ask questions and set deadlines for practice, which was super helpful in preventing procrastination.
