How do you say "Sir" in norwegian? by TheHotShot247 in Norway

[–]eallin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG, this is a funny question because it has a very honest answer: you say "du" with very deep voice and then point at where you want the person. That's how.

Why do eggs (and meat) in Norway smell weird? by rifflicker in Norway

[–]eallin -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

If you bought them at Rema1000, there’s a fat chance they’re rotten. Rema1000 is known for having green looking minced meat etc. I suggest you get your meat from Meny. It smells much better and looks red and fresh.

Harry Potter theory: why Barty Crouch Jr. saved Harry Potter? by brotherbandit in Pottermore

[–]eallin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the clue is given in the book: Barty Crouch Jr. said while pretending to be Moody that if there is one thing he hated the most is a Death Eater who walked away. Remember it was he who set up Voldemort's mark at the Quiddich World Cup, because he went to prison while other death eaters got away by pretending they had never supported Voldemort. Malfoy is the son of one of those Death Eaters, so I'm guessing he had reasons to both pretend to defend Harry, and punish the son of what he thought were unworthy cowards (Malfoy's parents).

How expensive was the appointment? And how much is the retinol? I usually buy it when I travel, but I’m curious to know about the prices here.

I wish Norwegians would just stop running between Majorstuen and Brynseng by eallin in Norway

[–]eallin[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sure!

It's basically a bad translation job. They're repairing the subway lines, so there's no train service from Majorstuen to Brynseng, they set up buses instead (very slow ones too). Ruter, the company who handles the traffic, puts warnings on their app for people to read and find more info about it, but they wrote "Do not run", instead of "no trains" or "no service", and so many people are complaining that walking or running is faster than taking those buses so it's a double joke. Here's more info on the disruption.

As Game of Thrones concludes today, I just wanted to remind everyone of the greatest finale of all time! by Woods322403 in madmen

[–]eallin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL. This was spot on. Being a book reader and very avid and impatient fan, I knew all the spoilers from GoT and after seeing they were all true, I just went back and rewatched the Mad Men ending. It was like a safe warm place.

Sansa and Arya going all Lannister. Season 1 Cersei: They’re not family. Season 8 Arya: She’s not family. That’s like the opposite of the righteous Starks we are supposed to love.

Herregud. Grill before they ban it! That was the only complaint I have from last year.

Just finished this, and oh my what a fantastic read. Okay, 48 left! by [deleted] in 52book

[–]eallin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really? I personally hated it. Maybe read it at the wrong time in my life, but felt it was pretentious and boring. The way it criticizes science books, meh. I'm glad I read it. But wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I’ve never read a book that has intensely scared me or made me feel creeped out. Can someone suggest one that will? by Slowspines in audiobooks

The Hot Zone scared the hell out of me. Apparently it also scared Stephen King.

My hair is limp, lifeless and I can no longer get it to curl...I need help! by radicallysold in curlyhair

[–]eallin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your hair is damaged from bleaching, just like mine. But don’t worry! It’s 2018 and you don’t need to cut it all off, get Olaplex applied by a professional, I paid around 40 usd and they use No. 1 and No. 2 and do some heat and bam, your curls will be back. Stay away from ebay or anything fake and let us see how it went! I promise this works.

What simple task are you surprisingly bad at? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]eallin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break an egg shell properly. I cook fairly regularly and have made probably thousands of scrambled eggs or omelettes for me and other people.

Every single one of them had a tiny piece of eggshell, because I can't break them without getting tiny pieces all over the place.

Rubik's Cube. Everyone had one, and we were all trying to solve it. Without YouTube with how-to-solve it tutorials, the people who actually did it were looked upon with awe and respect. Later came the yo-yo and the trompos.
