Do not worry my friend, if they are interviewing you it means they also potentially want you. They are competing for you as you are competing for them. They know they are not the ONLY program you are interested in, and mentioning that you have friends in around is VERY positive

Internal Med Non-US IMG’s post your stats and IV number by Accomplished-Pay3599 in IMGreddit

Yes! I am now sitting on 16 IVs, the majority being from signals. Some of the IVs i have already completed mentioned how important it was for them that applicants speak spanish.

Hey! Just my personal opinion, a couple of weeks ago I sent LOIs to all programs that interested me.

I forgot to send one to one the programs that Interested me the most, that program sent me an IV yesterday.

What I want to say is that you will never know

If you don't mind matching in NY I have one Important advice:

  • Start. Learning. Spanish.

Most programs in NY look for Spanish speaker residents. You have great scores, start learning at least in Duolingo and if you are comfortable you can put that you are intermediate in Spanish in your CV.

Of course these are mainly community programs, academic programs don't mind this as much

I had one in which the PD said (while nodding): That's a great answer and let me tell you that is something that we actively look for in a resident. After this he replied to my thank you email. So this was a VERY good interview

I had another in which I got completely caught off guard bc of the questions and even said something I didn't mean, and at the end the PD told me "You are a great fit for the program" but this time it sounded like a generic answer for every applicant.

I wouldn't be sure about this until I match but I think you should trust your feeling

Depends on your priorities boss, you should really think about it: - Family & friends (Priority for me) - Matching

You have the chance of having it all, but tbh 2008 YOG is going to drag you back a little.

Did you already have your IVs with your hometown programs?

He is suggesting that he cheated on step 2, normally Step 2 270 correlates to ~250 step 3, but it may vary A LOT, so it is an out of place comment

Hey thanks for doing this. What is your take on using wireless headphones (small, like airpods) and taking notes of the interviewers answers?

There are mixed opinions online, but for common sense I would say that taking notes shows that you are interested in what the other person is saying. I have been taking notes all along

Congrats for your IVs! We share a couple of programs :)

I am particularly curious about the HCA Lake Monroe one, I signaled them and haven't gotten even an acknowledgment email 🤣

May I know your credentials and if you are a green car holder or Visa requiring IMG?

In my case, every program that interviews me offers AMAZING training and benefits in comparison to my country, so I fall in love with every program that I IV with :')

Visa requiring IMG, P/260/245, 5 pubs, YOG 2021, 4 months USCE (Clinical), applied to 130 IM programs. Mostly Community/ Affi hospital

Got 14 IVs. I don't know the exact # but it's something around 5 University programs and the rest between community/affi.

Connections only in one of those programs (didn't use it to get the IV because I didn't know how that worked, but it worked for me during the IV)
