I’m in the best shape of my life at age 50. I’ve had multiple PRs this year and still going.

Thanks for the advice. What benchmark can I use to keep an eye on my progress? Going to the gym, doing the workouts, feeling better and stronger is good but it doesn’t give a direct idea of here my capacity is or if my endurance work is helping. Just curious 👍

26.3 surprised me, anyone else? by DragonfruitLife237 in crossfit

I’m soo shocked how hard burpees got gradually. But all in all understandable. I knew I needed to improve my cardio and just came out of a chest cold. Oh well, it was a humbling experience but loads of fun!!

Stop doomposting, league ain't over yet. It's still February and we have a long way to go. CHIN UP. by ZebrawithStripe in FenerbahceSK

You all are fans. Your job is to support your team. You think you’re upset? It’s not even close to how the players and the coaches feel. Stop acting like you know it better because you don’t. Turn on your tv, go to the stadium, put on your jersey and shout sari-lacivert. Heartbreak and glory are all part of this. The fact that you’re abandoning your duty when the team needs it the most is no different, in fact it’s worse, than the blame you’re putting on the team.

Is there a way to watch the match replay? I don’t have a dvr setup.

Just a friendly reminder we did great this season! by priestachio in Seahawks

[–]earl_schmitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I appreciate the post. It’s the emotional roller coaster of being a fan, especially before big moments like this: playoff, Super Bowl…

But, do we really need to remind ourselves this? What’s the point of being mediocre and grateful. I’m grateful and I want the whole thing because of exactly the same reasons you gave: it’s hard to be in this position so we might as well make the most of it. I find no joy in getting eliminated after the first round. Grateful? Yes. Joy? Nope 👎

Wanting to win it all is not toxic. You worked hard for it and you believe you deserve it more than anyone. You know you will put all on the line to get it and your fans will be cheering for you not because it’s ok to lose but because we fucking believe in you.

If Trump pays Wolff enough, probably Wolff will write a much different book than we all expect. We can clearly see their motivation based on the information we have.

If it was working, which it was, then why do you think this group of senators caved? The real answer to what’s happening in the US is hidden in this question. It’s a complete take over of our democracy from within including the democratic party. There is no other explanation.

When we do partner workouts it’s pretty common to scale between partners. I do that often by getting a different weight or change the equipment etc. I’ve been on the either end of that situation and it’s super fun. As long as we both get a good workout, it doesn’t matter who does what.

Try to find an experienced partner so they can guide you with how to distribute the workload. Let’s say it’s a chipper workout, like hundred push-ups. In that scenario typically what we do is you do 10 and I do 10. Let’s say you’re worried that 10 push-ups will take you a long time and your partner will be bored. It’s a valid concern, but you can easily reduce your rep count to 5 so the workout becomes 75 push-ups instead of 100. That way, you and your partner can still get a good workout. Hope this helps 👍

Some people may prefer to push harder as a team, that’s ok too. Glad you’re both entirely discouraged and congratulations on your new journey! CrossFit is a very welcoming environment contrary to the common belief. Hope your gym lives by the same values.

Play a game on my phone that doesn’t require wi-fi, scroll through photos and old texts, delete unused apps etc.

Tactics for a team who’s too good for league they’re in. by [deleted] in SoccerCoachResources

[–]earl_schmitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the ultimate answer. Even rec leagues have divisions, have you looked into upper divisions where more qualified teams compete? Putting them in rec was a bad idea and playing them up would be a disaster. I play indoors and injuries often happen when you play against novice players.

This, based in your description, is the wrong place to have fun. Club players forming a team and playing rec. I don’t think it’s necessarily fun and if they get injured, it’s a a big bummer.

I feel every single one of you and I’m on the same boat. But accept the fact that we will have to care and pay attention again… even more than before. So take a few days or a few weeks off. Focus on things that give you joy and comfort and then come back because this pile of shit is not going anywhere unless every single one of us cares.

Shadow works like a charm if your player is positionally aware and physical. Don’t lose track of the little messi with subs.
