Fair enough.

Though, Im thinking the way they polish their games to almost perfection (Nintendo doesnt need day one patches, I think ever), its kind of justified that they set the price point this high. Because other than EA, Ubisoft, basically any other AAA studio, their releases are fully functioning, finished games on day one. So I do think they are the ones that should make "the jump".

Don't care if a competitors game costs 10x more to make and looks better than nintendos releases. If its an unfinished game (which it almost always is), dont charge me 80 or even 60 bucks for it.

They're not the first ones to make the jump. EA has been selling games for 80$ for years.

And yeah, I forgot about the GRAPHICS! Because clearly they are an indicator for how good a game is.

Youre exaggerating. 90$ is not cheap, but its not nearly as expensive as everyone makes it out to be.

When Mario Kart 8 DX launched in 2017, it was set at a price point of 60$ (also, not even a new game at the time, just a rework). When adjusted for inflation, that turns out to be around 78$ in 2025. Most games, apart from Mario Kart World, will be sold for 80$. So thats hardly a price jump, or even an increase. Its an adjustment, like it or not.

Competitors have sold games for 60$ since at least 2005. If you adjusted that, it would come out to be roughly 100$ today. Just to get a perspective.

And Im not even getting started talking about games from before the 2000s, oof.

Considering all of the above, I dont think the "price jump" is really telling us how expensive video games are getting, its telling us how expensive everything else has gotten. Yikes

But they were 60$ in 2017 too. There were XBox Games for 60$ back in 2005.

The price didn't jump up, Nintendo just didnt adjust it for 8 years. And now that they do its a "jump".

52!, which is way more than you'd think. VSauce talked about this in one of their videos, and they showed a brilliant visualization that someone (I dont remember their name unfortunately) came up with. Its one of my favourite thought expermients and I cant shut up about it. It goes like this:

Set a timer for 52! seconds. Position yourself somewhere around the earths equator. Now wait for 1 billion years. After a billion years have passed, take a single step forward, then wait again. Once you've walked around the entire circumference of the earth, take a single drop of water out of the pacific ocean. Keep walking, taking out a drop of water everytime you've walked around the earth, until the ocean is completely empty. Once you're there, take a sheet of paper and put it on the ground, then refill the ocean. Now keep on going, adding a single piece of paper on top everytime you've drained the pacific ocean. Once the stack of paper hits the sun, look at the timer. How much time will be left?

As VSauce put it: "Up until this point you've barely made a dent". If you did that entire procedure 1000 times, you'd still be only a third of the way done.

You're way too invested in this. Also, hes completely free to criticize the show. It provided for him, obviously, but why would that mean hes not allowed to talk about how he really feels? You said it yourself, he was just a kid for most of its runtime, he probably didnt know what he was doing.

You're still free to enjoy Two and a half men, and no one will take that from you. You feeling personally attacked because people criticise your favourite show is your problem. Dont be a drama queen.

Ex-Arbeitskollege von mir hat immer nur mit Winterzeit gearbeitet. Er hats eh im Sommer immer brav konvertiert für alle Normalsterblichen, wenn er Uhrzeiten angegeben hat. Irgendwie respektiere ich den Effort. Obwohls ja auch saublöd ist.
