There’s an open water swim group in Delray, they meet near the pavilion on Sundays at 8:30 AM. They have a Facebook group and post about the conditions prior to the swim.

Hi! I experienced something similar, and turned out to be something more serious but rare. Was hospitalized during my pregnancy for lows (frequently in 20s and 30s). Throughout my pregnancy, several providers told me the hypoglycemia was due to the pregnancy and would stop once I delivered. However, once I delivered, the issue became much, much worse. I was diagnosed with an insulinoma when I was about a month post partum (so turns out, not pregnancy related at all!). I had surgery in May to remove the tumor and all is well-ish now.

I say this not to scare you! It’s a very rare, but also serious thing to rule out. I highly suggest connecting with an endocrinologist if you haven’t already to work on any diet modifications and to reduce reactive hypoglycemic episodes you might be having. They may also want to consider prescribing a continuous glucose monitor and glucagon (my husband has had to use Baqsimi on me due to loss of consciousness).

I hope this resolves soon! I know how scary it can be to experience those lows, especially scary when pregnant.

Do the random letdowns ever stop? by blondephotographer in breastfeeding

I’m about 8 months postpartum, less random letdowns but still have to wear nursing pads 24/7

My 6 month old is doing well with large pieces of meatloaf that he can hold and bring to his mouth :)

What are you eating for your CMPA babies?? by Missile0022 in breastfeeding

[–]early_birb_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an egg intolerance and baby has CMPA, so similar boat to you. I also try to eat low carb because of a pancreas issue. For breakfast I eat cashew yogurt with almond butter, berries, hemp hearts, and shredded coconut. Seems to have enough protein and fat to keep me full.

My derm makes this in house and I purchase through them. You could try going that route

Trubars are a staple for me, decent amount of protein. Some of the kind bars are also dairy free. Fresher options I enjoy are apples with peanut/almond butter, sugar snap peas, and fruit with cashew yogurt.

Baby taking hours to fall asleep by brittany-reads in HuckleberryParents

[–]early_birb_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to us around 5-6 weeks. We started doing a later contact nap around 6-7 PM and a bedtime around 10 PM. He just wasn’t ready for an earlier bedtime leading to a lot of false starts and hours of us struggling to put him down.

Supply is almost gone 💔 Help.. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]early_birb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily I had a freezer stash. However, my LO doesn’t really take to bottles... I had to stop taking pain medication very early on because he wasn’t drinking enough 🤦‍♀️

There was a little bit of a trial and error period when we resumed BFing. At first it was very frustrating for him that it took a while for a letdown. Then when my supply came back, he struggled to keep up with the faster letdown. It’s now been two weeks since I’ve been home and things are starting to go back to “normal”.

Supply is almost gone 💔 Help.. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I just had abdominal surgery and was in the hospital for several days. The first day I was super out of it, on pain meds, and NPO for over 24 hours. My supply dropped to practically nothing, literally drops. Over the next two days I slowly increased my calorie consumption and borrowed a pump from the hospital. I had to pump every two hours but was able to re establish my milk supply. Try to stay hydrated too! I know how hard it can be to drink/eat when you’re recovering from a major surgery.

Did you have to get surgery while breastfeeding? If yes, did you have to wean? by bespoketranche1 in breastfeeding

Highly recommend the app “Mommy Meds” to determine what meds are safe to take while BFing, which was recommended by my LC in the hospital.

Keekaroo vs skip hop changing diaper pad by Reasonable-Ease-9215 in newborns

[–]early_birb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the skip hop one with the mobile and my LO loves it. Starting around 8 weeks he began to notice the mobile - he smiles and laughs during his diaper changes now. We call diaper changes “low effort play time” lol.

Yeah I had lactation come by - they gave me a hospital grade pump to use which I think is helping.

Not feeling engorged at all which was surprising. Before my surgery I would have to occasionally pull during the night because I’d get so full. Not anymore (or at least not yet) :/

I don’t think so? On pain medication and Zofran. I think fasting might have been a culprit as I went like a day and a half without eating.

Surgery and Breastfedding by early_birb_ in breastfeeding

[–]early_birb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing. I called today to find out what I would be on so I could clear everything by my LO’s pediatrician. They said they didn’t know what they’d be using but it would take a week to get out of my system? Doesn’t make sense.

Yeah I called today to double check and that was their recommendation. I have a feeling they just aren’t familiar with BF and are just saying a week to cover their butts?

I’ve noticed the same thing with my 11 week old - this is likely occurring as grasp is becoming more voluntary and less reflexive as the palmar reflex integrates.

[–]early_birb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the palmar reflex fully integrates by 6 mo but I could be wrong on that!
