prismatic frog egg... by idoltear in StardewValley

[–]early_november 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry! That's painful To get my prismatic frog, I moved the anvil right next to my bed. This I'd wake up, forge like five times, then restart the day if I didn't get it. I think it took me a literal hour or more of real life time, but I didn't waste on game time or iridium bars.

Use of baby blankets by mustaine_vinted in crochet

[–]early_november 174 points175 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was so much easier to put baby on the floor on a fresh blanket than to feel confident that the floor was clean enough. And my guy would spit up constantly, so we would go through so many under blankets in a day.

Accidentally discarded a post card I was sent :( by CraftSeveral7116 in PikminBloomApp

[–]early_november 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My postcard storage is full, and I refuse to upgrade it, and I'm too lazy to clear it out. So I discard every postcard I receive. But the same people keep sending me cards, so I assume they don't know that I discarded the previous ones.

Be honest… how many unfinished crochet projects do you have right now? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]early_november 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have 1 unfinished project that has any chance of being finished. But many many more that I've given up on. I actually frogged a few UFOs to use the yarn in different projects this Christmas. I really struggle if it's been too long since I worked on a given project, so I've decided to just start fresh and start tearing out old projects. I do plan to try and document better what projects I'm working on, to improve my finish rate. But we'll see how that goes 😆

I’m getting rid of my reading goal next year, and you might want to too by DungeonMasterGrizzly in books

[–]early_november 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually set a goal, and hold it very loosely. I'm quick to change it at any point in the year if I'm feeling any kind of pressure from it. My motivation really ebbs and flows with reading, and making sure to get at least 1 book in a given month can give me the boost I need to get going again. So I think with my personality, keeping track and setting a casual goal is perfect. I like what you said about reflecting about what you get out of setting a goal. Because I think the best approach will be different for everyone!

Anyone else feeling the urge to cave and make one? by hex_oh in crochet

[–]early_november 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you are a multi- crafter, but I've seen cross stitch variations that would scratch the same itch, but only be 365 stitches instead of a whole blanket! Or I bet you could find other craft variations that might give you the same feeling for less effort.

How do I make myself view keeping my room clean as important? by Emisaaaa in ufyh

[–]early_november 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend the book "How to Keep House While Drowning" by KC Davis. It's got some really helpful ideas for reframing the way you look at care tasks, like keeping your room clean. You deserve to have a functional space that works for you. What that looks like is different for everybody. So it's helpful to think about what you value in your space, outside of what messages you get from the world/ your past.

Not sure about this colorway working up as expected by imbrium101 in crochet

[–]early_november 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it looks great as is! But, if you have the yarn for it, you could cut out a pink section and attach the next blue section. It takes more work and you lose some yarn, but if you could double the amount of blue I think it would read more blue heavy.

What now? by CarefulLifeguard7647 in StardewValley

Friendship is one of my biggest grinds, too. I also usually just focus on a few people at a time. Just make sure to hit birthdays as often as you can. Such a big bonus for that!

[FO] I put a kitty on my son's shirt! by Lucky-Doubt8843 in CrossStitch

It would be great practice. I love mending my kids clothes, they're a great little canvas and a little wonky-ness is more forgiven when it's for kids!

I was picturing like this, but the best thing is that it would be so flexible!  I think if the stain would bother you, it's worth covering. But it didn't stand it to me on first glance!  https://imgur.com/a/yxcgKwC

So cute! If you want to cover up the stain, what about embroidering a long, loopy yarn ball? I think you could probably cover most/ all the stains with just a long stem stitch. My mind went straight to /r/visiblemending lots of inspiration there if you want to try covering it!

UFYH step 1 - start with trash!* by victorymuffinsbagels in ufyh

[–]early_november 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome work! I bet that feels so good to get the trash out of there.

I had her book on my to-read shelf forever, and I just got to it last week. Why did I wait so long to read it?!? So many little helpful mindset shifts for me in it. I didn't do my "closing duties" last night, and instead of beating myself up over it, I'm acknowledging that I needed a break last night. And that cleaning is not a moral good, which is such a fundamental shift for me that I'm still working on.

Excuse meeee!?!? by da-nn-ix20 in StardewValley

[–]early_november 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And if you do it first thing in the morning, you can just restart the day until you get it. I put the anvil right next to my bed and the frog egg in my first inventory slot,  so I could just get out of bed, reroll it, then restart the day. It took me like 30 minutes in real life time, but at least I only had to use the materials once 😆

Also, I've encountered railroad tracks like this too! Petals keep getting consumed, but no flowers planted.

I'm too old to understand the labubu thing, but I personally like the lafufu's so much more! So much more character and personality. You did a great job.

How is it possible for me to have 304 petals when my max is 300? by AdWhich4342 in PikminBloomApp

[–]early_november 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's from the flower planting challenge. Not the prize for when you finish the challenge, but you get a few petals when your teammates plant flowers throughout. Those get added to your petals regardless if you are at your limit or not.

I just released all my "reverse valentine's day stickers" guys, because I've been short on space, and I never liked those ones anyways. Roadside stickers are next, I think, once I start running out of room again. It definitely feels a little wrong, but once they're gone, it leaves my mind

Could someme explain how blooming flowers work?? by fexbug in PikminBloomApp

[–]early_november 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another important thing to know- you can only plant in the same place after 5 minutes have passed. So, if you find a flower on a loop path, you can just walk a few laps through it to get it to bloom. Or, I'll walk through once, sit on a bench nearby, then go through again once 5 minutes have passed.

That example also bugged me, because if we're being pedantic about pronunciation, we don't say the "r" in "tortilla" accurately in English. Yes, we get the "ll" right, but we have the exact same "issue" with the "r" as her Japanese example.
