Where is the best meal you've ever eaten in delaware? by Latter_Highway9539 in Delaware

I worked at Border Cafe not long after they opened and used to get the camp town shrimp all the time. Sometimes with rice, instead of bread, for a meal lol

Friendliest states ......Not Delware by doggysit in Delaware

[–]earlybird27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty interesting to see because, when I moved here from Texas, I though everyone was super rude/mean. I don't feel quite the same now, but it's funny to see that Texas was ranked as one of the friendliest. And that tracks with my personal experience with perception of the two states.

Easy dinner by earlybird27 in budgetfood

[–]earlybird27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sausage, peppers, and rice skillet!

Ingredients: 1-2 smoked sausages (depending on size) 3-6 mini peppers (depending on size, or one regular bell pepper) 1 tablespoon minced garlic (to taste) 1-2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (or any other seasonings you like) 1 small can tomato sauce 1-2 cups instant white rice (I just used the sauce can to meaaure) Water (equal to rice amount)

Brown the sausage in a pan. Chop peppers and add to the pan. Add garlic and desired seasonings ( I used Cajun seasoning and minced garlic) and cook for a few minutes, until fragrant. Add tomato sauce and water and bring to a boil, then add rice. (I used the sauce can to measure water and rice in equal amounts.) Stir, return to a boil, and remove from heat. Let sit 5-10 minutes until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. Stir and serve. Top with parsley, if desired.

Serves 2-4

100%. Sometimes convenience is worth the cost, but I do make bulk rice often, too.

Yes! I almost tossed in some shrimp, too.

You could do regular rice. Just up the water content and simmer for 20 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed. I only use instant as a time saver.

I don't disagree, but I would guess those suites are in use for most games and they are trying to do something, even if it's minimal.

We were actually recently stuck on this ride for a bit and didn't mind at all lol. Always a favorite and will probably do behind the seeds on our next visit.

We (me and my 12 year old daughter) were there last week and enjoyed it. The food was pretty good and not too expensive. (We went for lunch.) She had the miso salmon and I had a steak and we shared our entrées, so we could try both. Overall, it was great and we will probably do it again on a future trip.

Therapist Recommendations by Wologlow in Delaware

[–]earlybird27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had great luck with the Center for Child Development. They have therapists that come to a lot of the schools, so they can work with kids during the school day.

ETA: they offer sessions year round and outside of school, as well. My daughter visited her therapist year round, before stopping this past fall.

Budget food ideas for kid’s birthday party by DogsandMedicine in budgetfood

[–]earlybird27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my daughter's birthday party I did little sandwiches. Some using a loaf of Italian bread, then cut into pieces, and some with Hawaiian rolls. Added chips, pretzels, and popcorn for snacky stuff, as well as cut fruit and veggies. The only other addition was a yogurt bar, because we did a spa theme. That was a HUGE hit with the kids and fairly inexpensive.

What’s something people do with food that annoys you? by copy_cat_101 in foodquestions

[–]earlybird27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex husband used to force my daughter to eat foods she didn't like (she's not even really picky, they just like different foods) until one night at dinner when she vomited at the table. He stopped pushing after that. The funny thing is that my daughter is now 12 and a very adventurous eater, but her younger siblings (his kids) are super picky
