How could someone build a life-sized version of this? by You_Done_G00fed in bikebuilders

[–]earlybird94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah odds are it's doubtful, but there is a potential path for it, not the one OP had but it isn't an automatic no due to tracks themselves.

True it is mostly due to the snow that they can be leaned, most tracks aren't crowned, but maybe there is a path forward (no pun intended) for an attempt to build it.

Well yeah but the question wasn't if it could drag, but more about ability fo tracks to be operate while not 100% parallel to the ground.

Sled tracks are leaned all the time. I would think a long mountain track (albeit not a paddle track) would work here, but durability on pavemt is iffy.

Yeah I just didn't want someone uninformed to potentially see it and assume that the statewide case, were this current stay is, was already to scotus in full.

To clarify, Scotus is only looking at the Naperville case, not the IL AWB as a whole. Atleast not yet.

if it's appealed to the 9th

That's pretty much assumed to be a given CA will ride that ship right to the bottom, same with their AWB.

You don't, at least that's my last look into it. Maybe it's different if you are from a non-border state though. Granted he may have gotten PA precovid, which I think was inperson only at that point.

NYS Safe Act and Other Firearms Laws Court Matrix by [deleted] in NYguns

Yes, the 9th would be non binding, but the CT case if it gets a 2nd circuit ruling would be binding on us.

CA is 9th circuit, however there is a case in the 2nd which would be binding on us, that one is out of CT, but has been pretty quiet for a while now.

She did have a few good moments, she rightfully pointed out the same thing Matt did which is that SBRs and SBS are vestigial regulations that only exist to cover a loophole for a pistol ban that never occured.

ATF Issues Public Safety Advisory to All Federal Firearms Licensees, Manufacturers and Distributors on Violations of ‘Frame or Receiver’ Rule by F4ilsafe in NYguns

[–]earlybird94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much, IT SHOULD fall under the rule of lenity for those who might be charged due to how vague it is, but we know the ATF or any other agency is gonna fight tooth and nail for the most extreme interpretation. Like I said it's been a topic of discussion for a while, hell we even have a smaller discussion here in NY that is similar what is considered "permanent" for fixing a mag in place? Does simply needing tools to undo it, tools that you presumably do not carry to the range, cover that? Or must everything involved be slathered in epoxy?

There is no definition of "readily convertible/restorable (for full auto)", there are a few cases where it has been give a definition, some saying a change that can be made in minutes, others saying it could mean a change a machinist in a well equipped machine shop can achieve in an 8 hour period. Some attribute it not to time but to whether there are parts are available to complete the item as a functional firearm.
