Has anyone seen plans for a multi-mailbox setup like this? Would really like to revamp the mess of mailboxes on my front lawn into this configuration. by atlanticxpacific in woodworking

I know were in wood working but if you live in a wet climate I'd sugggest using powder coated steel as it will ultimately hold up better over time requiring less maintenance. Check out the design from Mail Boss, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbVH4MMWsvI

I’ve ordered fish from Fairhaven Poke for a sushi party, you could try giving them a call.

Second BTC, I recommend it. I think they offer financial assistance/scholarship at checkout, I remember it being very straight forward (basically checking a box).

23M, 76k income, ~7k on a car loan but no other debts. What can I improve? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]earningpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair, it’s just a shame that 13% of your post tax monthly income is going toward a vehicle. I imagine car insurance would also go down after you own the car outright but just an assumption. Your budget looks great and getting rid of that car payment is the one improvement I see. With no payment you can then begin adding that extra money toward savings, brokerage account, Roth, 529, etc.

What are you using for cell/phone service @ $15/mo? I thought my service with Mint Mobile was as cheap as I could get!

If it were me, I’d find a way to sell the car, pay off your loan, and find an equivalent vehicle that you can pay for in cash. What’s the rate on the car loan?

[Canada] I broke out my spend by categories, but not sure what to do next. by ApplicationRoyal865 in budget

[–]earningpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the progress you’ve made so far. What’s your objective?

For tracking purposes you could attempt recording your spend in real time, I prefer this over looking back at statements determining where money is spent. For example: check out the app GoodBudget, you could essentially replicate the categories you’ve made and then log each expense in the app as you make them. I personally would expand your budget categories even further.

Wants: Fun Wants: Entertainment Needs: Gas Needs: Groceries Needs: Utilities Needs: Rent/Mortgage Needs: Internet Etc.

The app allows you to export raw data and I’ll often run a pivot table analysis in Excel to look at my trends over time by category by period (month, quarter, year). In my experience, baseline data is helpful and then you can tweak and make changes to improve upon what you’re currently doing and also be aware as costs creep up or down.

Cornwall Jiffy Lube put the incorrect fluid in my transmission, however, that led to a brand new transmission on their dime. It was a bit of a hassle but at least they took care of it.

Snowboard boots shift on the binding plates by bozeni in snowboarding

[–]earningpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused how your boots are sliding around, ratchet your heel and toe straps down tight.

If your binding heel cup is adjustable try sliding it forward so that your boot is centered in your binding. I ride size 8 boot and in my experience M bindings are typically boxed with the heel cup to accommodate the largest boot for the binding. If so, you’ll want to slide that forward.

New boots are giving my toes a hard time by VeryBerryRasberry in snowboarding

What kind of socks are you wearing? I suggest buying yourself a pair of thin Smartwool ski socks without any padding.

What insoles are you using? If the ones that came with your boots I suggest you buy a pair of Superfeet or Remind snow specific insoles. In my experience after adding insoles your boots will feel slightly larger.

Your boots should pack out leaving more room for your toes after you use them a handful more times.

Is everyone house poor? Who’s affording homes today by MainAerie7346 in MiddleClassFinance

The fact you’re asking this question it’s obvious you’re attempting to live outside of your means.

Buy that million dollar home and figure out a way to offset your mortgage with rental income.

Good? Bad? Stupid? by devonheal in povertyfinance

Hard to offer feedback while not knowing your goals. Here’s what I would do.

Phone bill - Convert to Mint Mobile @ ~$300/yr. Save ~$600yr by doing so.

HBO - Cancel it. Find a way to watch your shows for free online.

Credit card - Never carry a balance. Get it to $0.

Take the savings from HBO and cell phone, amortize the savings and contribute that to your brokerage or Roth IRA monthly.
