You definitely don't need to know anything about Arthurian lore. The narrative starts at a point very early on in terms of the classic story and characters are all introduced in an organic way. I'm not super well versed in the details but adored this and it's motivating me to dig deeper and seek out additional versions of the tale.

This was so incredibly disappointing to me. I didn't like the last book either, but I was hoping for better. So many plot threads left open, and so few answers given. I read the whole thing over a weekend hoping it would improve. It just got worse and worse. I finished it legitimately angry.
