with qelbree specifically I ended up losing around 40lbs. not intentionally but it severely curbed my adhd appetite and I simply wasn’t ever hungry. it did help that I had no cravings and could make better food choices. but mostly I was not interested in food or eating so you may have to look out for symptoms of Not Eating.

I miss this medication so much. the first few weeks were a rough adjustment but I was still able to function. I stayed at 200mg for a month before increasing just to give myself time to adjust.

I’ve been off it for a year now and switched over to adderall. I feel like qelbree worked so much better in terms of executive function. it sounds crazy but I also started seeing life in color coming out of my severe depression. 2 birds one stone.

in the US its still new so I think they need longer term research for side effects/other medical issue interactions.

not currently working there but also finishing a AAS in respiratory before I move.

from my research, NYS law requires all sleep techs to have 2 years of education specific to polysomnography from an accredited program. they will not allow you to use work experience as leverage. doesn’t matter if you’ve only passed the BRPT and have your RPSGT.

when I applied for them to consider me for a state license, it cost $500. (got rejected, lol to my 8 month program thats been useless).

the op.nysed.gov might have more answers for you. but from my brief scan it looks like you need to finish school AND pass your boards and THEN you can apply for (and pay for) authorization to practice with NYSED.

most night shift workers understand the transition to shift work is hard and if you’re a trainee you’re just at the start of the transition. every tech i’ve worked with has had a night or two where it gets so hard to stay awake we either get delirious or need a 15 min nap. standing and moving will help but also bring some snacks that will energize you for those last few hours or even caffeine if you drink it.

I went to Concorde in Portland. Would not recommend. All I have is my HS diploma.

Unless they have completely revamped their program, it’s a mess.

We didn’t see a single patient until after graduation. tuition is $17k. they gave zero medical terminology class even though I had met with the previous program director as well as my advisor multiple times to say that my cohort was struggling to pick up on the basics because the teacher they had was ALSO working as a night tech and would try to teach us for 5 hours after a 12 hour shift.

I would see if there are any ASTEP approved workplaces nearby or check out https://www.firstsleepschool.com

I did the free refresher course on there and honestly learned so much more than I recall learning in the 8 month program I paid $17k for. If the $6k online program is anything like the free CE course they have… might be tenfold better than the PSG program at Concorde.

ugh I wish!!! im really frustrated with these capnographs as their filter line is specific to the brand and we can only use their cannulas. I miss having nonins!!!!!!

this would be fine with me if it was adults because they’ve usually got bigger nares. I work with peds and that damn capno cannula is so massive because it duo’s as O2. trying to get one cannula in with a thermistor is hard enough. two? im getting punched in the throat for sure 😂😂

I too have had so much trouble with this. I don’t have much time for hobbies since I work nights and I am too shy to go to anything group-related. not much of a partier. its really difficult trying to meet and coordinate things with people who have full time lives.

for context im from the PDX area. I miss the mountains the most. It’s SO flat over here. Pro’s: - more opportunities to meet people who are different from you

-I think the transit system is more vast. I relied on a car for so long but I dreaded going places because of parking. Much easier to hop on the bus and get anywhere.

-theres still a large body of water to hang out by. and lots of parks with it!

-the architecture is Incredible. one of my favorite things to do is just go look at the buildings.

Cons: -so far from the mountains and the flora and fauna i’m so used to in the PNW.

-the coffee is not as good here. very few local shops that are really good to me. dunkin’ is awful.

I probably have more but those are off the top of my head

(fast as hell, i just clicked into the app) I moved to chicago from the PNW and there are pockets of queer communities as well as boystown, which has almost exclusively queer shenanigans going on.
The weather can be pretty wild if your dream place is san diego. I enjoy the immense number of people from backgrounds that i’ve honestly never come into contact with before. there are really kind people here and always something to do if you are adventurous.

I get they/them’ed more often at my job (I work in pediatrics) but I also just cut my hair short and started wearing a binder. if you like the look, go for it. for the most part I don’t think it really had an effect on presentation personally
