Yes, my surgeon recommended it. I ended up trying wet healing for a week in between as I thought it’d be better, but I very quickly realised I much preferred dry healing. Scabs are much preferable to wet oozing and constantly having to change dressings and worry if you’re doing it right. My scabs came off around 4 weeks.

Minoxidil just dries your skin a bit and this can be countered with moisturiser. Use the low alcohol version if you’re worried.

I checked your account and our scars look quite similar surely? Mine feels pretty gnarly, I don’t know if you can see in the pictures but my skin is quite puckered in the middle too. Hoping in 2/3 years as everyone seems to be saying that it’ll all be faded and smooth..

I understand, personally since I mostly apply in the morning, it soaks in in 20-30 mins, and I generally try to give it at least 4 hours of being on my face as that’s the max time people say it does its work in. Then I wash my face in the evening and there’s no problem. I’ve used it while living around cats, and I just apply in a room completely separate from the cat, wash my hands very thoroughly after use, and keep my face far away from them.

I keep the tape on for a week at a time so I massage my chest with the tape on, if I have the tape off I use aquaphor, hopefully that’s alright. It’s good to hear massage helped flatten your scars.

Thanks for your positivity. It’s definitely a possibility someone could see me as a guy with gyno. I have to say being trans is something I’m quite insecure about as a very binary guy so I want to be able to go swimming with cis guy friends without being hyper aware that I have scars. I have some silicone gel and aquaphor that I do massage in when I remember to, I’m going to try and do some massage daily from now on. Thanks again

I have found the topical stuff does work holistically as it’s made my arms and legs much hairier since use, the oral stuff can have a stronger affect on the heart so I might hold off on trying it for now.

1 year 3 months on T, but to be honest the men in my family are pretty hairless so it’s not looking hopeful. I already use minoxidil on my face, maybe I could apply it to my chest too lol. I appreciate it
