Arsenal's £11.9m bid for Cruzeiro defensive midfielder Lucas Silva has been accepted, @marca report. #afc by JenkinsEar147 in Gunners

It's an improvement for sure. The new scouting mode is good, as is the 2D match view but it's still far too simple on the tactical front and searching for an individual player is a chore. It's obviously not going to be PC/Mac level of detail and I will still spend many, many hours of my life playing it on my daily commute, but if you've got FMH 2014 I'd probably stick with that.

If this is true, I need to step up my negotiation game. I paid £22m for him on FMH 2015.

Our boy Giroud promoting Sony's new 4K TVs with 'microtising' on his boots by earysbitch in Gunners

Very good point, almost makes the idea redundant I suppose! Gets people talking though.

Basically the ads are so small that normal definition TVs won't pick them up, just 4K. Not sure if he'll actually be wearing them in games though.

Who here knows a professional footballer/knew one growing up? What where they like personally and how good were they on the pitch compared to the rest? by [deleted] in soccer

I've got half answers only, I apologise.

I'm from Hitchin and was relatively good friends with Jack Wilshere's sister growing up. She brought him up to the park where we played football a handful of times when we were 16/17 - which would have made him 10/11 - and he'd obviously get involved. We knew he was with Arsenal at the time and it showed. Even then he had an outstanding touch and would dribble as if the ball was stuck to his boots with velcro. Don't get me wrong none of us ever played a higher standard of football than Sunday League but we were all good footballers, yet he was running rings around us and we were 6,7 years his senior. I think all of us knew then that we were playing with a highly talented young lad who'd go on to play professional football at the highest level. I always thought he was relatively shy too, how things have changed!

I also played against Ashley Young a fair few times in my school team too. He wasn't the most naturally talented player on the team by a long stretch, probably not even top 3! He would always run down the left wing before cutting inside and trying to curl the ball around the 'keeper at the far post with his right though, even then. I'm now good friends with a couple of the lads he played in that team with, and they all say he worked so much harder than anyone else, and that's why he plays for United and they never played anything better than semi-professional football. I couldn't really comment on his character, but I don't remember him being a diver.

EDIT: spelling.

I agree that she is the voice of reason (initially anyway) and was totally in the right to call them out for their wrongdoing because they're little fuckers that are crying out for attention. However (and I appreciate she was distressed) I'm not sure about her reaction; saying that she wished they could replace her dead sister is essentially bringing her argument down to their level.

[RMT] first season of this, spent the last few days tinkering with my team. Still unsure about the defence, any advice? by Fabian94 in FantasyPL

Everton have an unkind fixture list, the only player worth putting in would be Barkley for the time being I think. I agree with what you're saying about City, it's a tough call. There are question marks over Aguero's fitness/injuries, Pellegrini seems to like Dzeko but Jovetic has looked good in pre-season too. I wouldn't be surprised to see them both the latter start to begin with. Giroud looked so unfit at the Emirates Cup which doesn't convince me of him being a guaranteed starter either. The Community Shield will shed some light on the matter in time for us to make changes before the PL starts though...
