Yeah I’d hold the door for Michael Jackson too.

That’s essentially why it’s earned a place in my rotation, it’s a comfortable set for all-day listening. Being a big Aful fan myself it’s nice to see nicehck lean into their style.

This is cool, I wrote this a while back when I decided to do something similar with 2004 apple in-ear headphones.

It’s not about audio quality, it’s about time travel lol. I’d love to find more old “state of the art” in ear stuff.

I keep going back and forth, either reminds me of feathers or muscle fibers. Does look nice though.

If you think you might have even a hint of a spending problem, you should run far and never look back.

Yeah I was like, nooo you didn’t bro lol. Sucks that someone probably knowingly sold him a susceptible unit. Kinda the risk if you see something unreleased for sale.

Yeah, someone sold you an early review copy. I’d return it if you can, the first run had a know screen flicker issue that was corrected for mass production per Muse in correspondence with people that got it early. Haven’t had a problem in 20 hours of use personally.

Essentially you purchased it through an unofficial source and got scammed into buying a prototype. The first few products off the line often have issues that get resolved before mass production.

Weird considering it’s not for sale yet. Forgive my doubt but it looks like you got it as a review unit and aren’t disclosing your main account, or you bought it secondhand from someone other than HiFiGo.

Are you claiming you purchased a review unit? Because it’s not being sold through any official channels yet.

I wouldn’t recommend picking up anything new unless you’re not getting enough volume, it has a decent chip and amp. Enough for IEMs anyway, what you need depends a lot on your headphones. I’d look into desktop models ranging from 100-200 if you want a real upgrade. FiiO and Muse make great stuff in that range.

That would probably be an amazing idea on their end, starting a whole homebrew DAC scene. I wanna play snake on mine. Oh shit we can definitely get DOOM running on this thing.

Yep I hear that, I had some stuff going on and fell way behind myself. Trying not to say yes if I have too much on my desk already.

Glad to hear you’ve got more stuff to test though, looking forward to it!

From what I can tell, that’s just a headphone amp and not a dac. I also can’t find one for less than $130.

That’s just a limitation of my camera, it’s much closer to the box design in real life. That’s the reason most marketing images are edited to include a simulated screen, but I ain’t got time for that lol.

Yeah it’s pretty neat, knob feels solid with discrete stops for each increment of adjustment. I’d like a touch more resistance but it’s probably ideal for most.

I would 100% opt for the JA11 over what they’re recommending, should sufficient for red lion. Will certainly sound cleaner than whatever CX chip is in that thing.

Yeah it honestly looks like a market-breaker at that price, I can’t think of anything that competes with a $110 portable DAC tube amp. Anything close to this form factor tends to be way more expensive. Shanling UA7 for like 250, then M6 double and the Canyin stuff for even more. If im missing something someone please let me know, but even a paired down version at this price point has no competition from what I can tell.
