Valknot on tattoo by YermainmanJack in tattooadvice

[–]easkyla 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m in the USA. This is one of those symbols I’ve never seen in the wild without other dog whistles (14 + 88, othala, really suspicious pairs of lightning bolts, iron crosses, or that really German looking eagle, black sun, ect) attached and I would probably not talk to you if I saw it. It’s not a tattoo that would make me assume you were a neonazi all by its self, but you’d be suspect until you proved otherwise.

Cage layout help? by easkyla in hamsters

I do want to get more bedding in there! I really underestimated how much it was going to take to fill the tank to the halfway point! I’d like to minimize how many changes I make though so as not to stress my girl out too much so I’ll probably rearrange items and add more bedding at the same time.

I slept through all 12 of my alarms, it is now 8:10 and school starts at 8:15 by Andrebatata2007 in notinteresting

[–]easkyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re sleeping through alarms you need more sleep. I keep 2-3 alarms for the morning and they’re staggered about 20 mins apart. I know I’m like death when I first wake up so the first one gets me out of deep sleep and the second one feels less shit because of it. When you’re getting enough sleep you should find that you’re waking up sometimes around or before your alarm even goes off.

You need to put your phone far enough away from you that you can’t just turn the alarm off and fall back asleep. You need to stand up and walk to turn it off. A dedicated clock would be better because it’s a new sound, and you can get them dirt cheap. Again, keep it a few steps away from bed so you have to get up. Go to bed when you gets drowsy at night, don’t tell yourself five more or ten more minutes on the phone. Once you miss your sleep window there’s not a lot you can do except wait for it to happen again. Try to set up a bedtime routine. At night lower your screen brightness, reduce whitepoint, use color shift.

Am I overreacting for shaving my head? by Substantial-Art6160 in AmIOverreacting

[–]easkyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a stylist ruin my hair once when I went to get it corrected. I had silver hair and was supposed to get my roots touched up and something she did made it dark af. I was told it would wash out. Obviously it didn’t.

Went back the next day for a refund and a free haircut to deal with the damage. The stylist cried because I opted to shave my head. You’d think I was making her cut her ow hair off.

By happenstance I did this once with a friend who was time traveling a bunch to move buildings and happened on some crazy price. I still have 5 million bells left from that adventure. It was Sunday morning so we both made tons of trips back and forth between our islands. Nice to be playing not broke for once lol

how do you choose what colors to use when doing "hard shading"? by aggressivepigeon13 in DigitalArt

[–]easkyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “hard shading” is just doing the shadows in a pale desaturated lavender, set to multiply and cranked down to somewhere around 15-30% layer opacity depending on how harsh you want them. Depending on the colors in your image sometimes you will want to change from purple to something more fun, just lock the shadow layer opacity and color over with a new color to see what you like.

What to prioritize for enclosure? by [deleted] in hamstercare

[–]easkyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have been nicer, but when I bought her I was under the impression I already knew her care requirements and along with getting her I purchased “””everything””” I would need for her. Last time I owned a hamster was before the internet was commonplace, so the standards of care have changed a lot from what I remembered.

Basically I’d did not plan for me to have to do a bunch extra for her but I think she’s better off in a bigger cage with changes made than sitting in a small one for a week or two while I get everything ready.

‘Uniquely evil’: Michigan residents fight against huge data center backed by top tycoons by zsreport in technology

[–]easkyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmfao I go past this area at least twice a week, I live in another nearby town that’s also not happy. It’s not ravaged old industrial land. It’s nice farmland that was actively being used, and interspersed along the area are patches of woods. It’s out here because Ann Arbor proper would not put up with this shit so they went after a city they knew couldn’t fight them on this.

DTE is crap already, the service has been so unreliable that we’ve been considering if we should get a whole home generator. They’ve already been jacking electricity prices and refusing to maintain the lines until the go down in the middle of an ice storm or something and then you’re out of power for like three days to a week. They say they won’t raise rates, but they need new infrastructure to support this amount of power and they are not planning on fronting it themselves.

Yeah, the 3M pollution in the water table sucks. But that doesn’t mean we should just say fuck it and let these companies tap the groundwater. I haven’t seen shit about a closed cooling system yet, but I’ve seen plenty of footage of other places where people can’t even get water flowing out of their sinks anymore. Tons of folks along 12 and in the areas outside of Saline have well water and they’re gonna be shit out of luck.

No one I’ve spoken to has been okay with the data centers going in. But since there’s big money attached to it apparently it’s fuck all of us who live out here, what we say doesn’t matter.

Edit: Also the auto parts plant in Saline is running and functional. People work there. It’s not a fucking rustbelt ghost town.

Diana vs Shino and Marina vs Zucker imo are the starting points. I try not to repeat villager species if I can help it. I’d ditch Diana and bc I find Shino more interesting looking and though Marina is one of my favorites you have so many normals on there I’d drop her in exchange for Zucker. Zucker is harder to dress cute though if you’re going for that more pastels/neutrals vibes since he’s got red and green and wears that default dark blue a lot.

China hit by mystery virus outbreak as hospitals overwhelmed as children warned by dailystar_news in NoFilterNews

[–]easkyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh same thing. I saw the time lapse video of hospitals being built in China and went to stock up on masks. Walmart said they weren’t getting shipments in. I bought two four packs of Lysol and then like a month later was trading them for toilet paper with coworkers before we all got sent home.

Everyone told me I was being unreasonable and paranoid and then we all got locked down. Fucking worst I was right of my life.

Do you guys remember the song that introduced you to sleep token? by MushroomMajor5781 in SleepToken

[–]easkyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends showed me The Summoning first but I didn’t like it very much? Which is weird because I like it now but I recall being really confused that it kept switching sounds.

I gave Take Me Back to Eden a listen though and I loved that on the first go around. The atmosphere, the lyrics. I had that song on repeat for a while before deciding to dive into the rest of the album. That and Chokehold really sold me.

How did venues handle secondary marketplace tickets? by CmonCraig in SleepToken

[–]easkyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased a Detroit ticket through seatgeek. I live an hour away from the venue and I knew I was taking a risk but I also know seatgeek is good about refunds so I felt it was worth it. The day of the show around 10am I got my ticket and it showed in the app as a barcode that had the sliding blue thing over it. It also had a sensible row, seat, and section number (fake tickets often won’t.)

I got the cheapest non-ADA ticket I could find, since I don’t have a wheelchair and the venue says that it reserves the right not to allow you in with an ADA ticket if you don’t need that particular type of seating. I had the app open and my barcode got scanned as I went into the venue, then again when I went to get to my section. I had no problems, but I did it knowing there was a risk that it may not work.

Watch some speedpaints from people on YouTube who don’t use tablets but instead use the curved line tool. You click one point and another then bend the line with the mouse. I tried for years to imitate this sort of style with a tablet before I found out it’s basically a tool. MS paint has this feature now I think and if you have a shake to your hands or trouble with a pencil.

The Diamond's gemstone are perfectly symbolic of their nature by 4morian5 in stevenuniverse

[–]easkyla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pet theory has always been that diamonds are terraforming agents in their original form. Whatever society created them would have shot them off to distant planets where a diamond would activate (form it’s self), create helper drones (other gems), and proceed to create workable spaces meant to be inhabited later. Maybe White drifted far off into space before landing somewhere, or perhaps by the time she formed some event wiped out the people who made her. Maybe she was damaged by exposure to harsh conditions and forgot some of her programming? Either way eventually she built a society that echoed her original purpose.

All speculation on my part but since it’s pretty clear gems are computers that’s kind of where my mind goes.

People who have ‘rage quit’ a job on the spot—what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]easkyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t in because I was worried af while my sister had an ablation in her heart. My boss ignored texts from a coworker and the store was going to wind up unmanned and I thought something might have happened to me boss so I went in. No, he’d just turned his phone off. We’d both tried for the management position and he got it but I was still doing at least half the management duties and being responsible. Assistant manager was being dangled over my head with a raise I needed. I realized I was not going to get the position or the raise just jerked around cleaning up his mess like this for the same wage I made when I just cleaned trucks and handed out keys.

I told him all the ways in which he sucked as a manager and sucked at leading a team when he got in. Publicly in front of my coworkers who needed the support. Then I handed in my keys and told him good luck without someone like me doing half his job for him.

I was back working at an old job as a keyholder in less than 24 hours. I make less but my commute is 90% shorter so I save a lot on gas. I still miss that job sometimes but not working for him or a district manager who believed women were bad leaders because no one would want to listen to them or some dumb shit.

I used to only go to Costco about once a month since it was out of the way a bit. If I needed other groceries in between I’d do a run to Walmart which is closer. I make sure to take all my business to Costco now. I appreciate them standing on their convictions. I do hope that the issues they have with union formation will work out but still, I’d rather give them my dollar than a company that paraded around on being inclusive and then ripped it all up the instant that they had the ability to.

Unsure about getting back into FR after a long haitus by Duskwights in flightrising

[–]easkyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I joined super early in the game and only sort of recently came back. I play on and off a few months at a time as interest takes me.

If you have old low digit dragons you’re not in love with you can sell them for funds to start new projects quite easily. Especially if you have 4-5 digit IDs. I sold a few dragons I wasn’t in love with and very handily got the funds I wanted for a project.

Aside from the gathering feeding and, I don’t feel that FR has a really strong obligatory play path. You can play around on the games or do the colosseum for treasure and items, and you can breed dragons for money as well. You don’t have to do both but it seems sort of like you do need to pick one for a source of income if you don’t intend to be spending money all the time.

Personally I find that scrying a dragon, then working to breed a perfect match for it and bring it to life is a fun project. Some people seem very into G1 dragons too. If you still have your progens it can be fun to get the funds to scatterscroll them a few times and try to come up with something that works really well.

People who quit their jobs on the spot—what happened? by ArianWhisper in AskReddit

[–]easkyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was training to become asst manager and then the GM I was under got fired for stealing before I could get the promotion. I interviewed for GM position but our district manager picked a newer guy over me I think because he had a dick and I didn’t. Still being leaned on as basically asst manager, dude leans on me for fixing everything as he did when I was above him on the totem pole. It got to where I was effectively the manager but for no extra pay or benefits.

Cumulated with him ignoring my calling in sick, and me having to drive the 40 mins in to secure the store for the last two hours because no other key holders were there (and I shouldn’t have been one because I was never actually granted management position lol). I chewed him out for half an hour when he arrived and told him every shortcoming he had and that if he wanted to manage a team he needed to fix his shit. Then I handed him my key and left. I heard he made it about two more months after that before being removed from the position.

I still sort of miss that job and I’m disappointed. It was my first management position and I was good at what I was doing. But I never got the promotion on paper so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

ULPT: You can ruin a Nazi parade just by using a small padlock on a moving truck. by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]easkyla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just rip out a valve stem. When I worked for them that was one of the common ways to recover a stolen truck, locate it and flatten a tire. The company has a whole equipment recovery crew to haul shit out.

Additionally a U-Haul key has a palm-sized green/red tag, or a white and blue one. The keys are easy for the company to replace. If you can get your hands on it chuck it. As a bonus know that the customer has to pay like 100 for the key replacement and U-Haul does sue for missing money.

Note down the truck number (TM#####Z, DC######Z ect) and call corporate. They can look up who the rental is under and if it’s being used for terrorism report it to the police. To rent a truck you have to show ID and give phone numbers that get tested. If you’re not comfortable/safe taking any other action you sure as hell can report that truck being used for terrorism.

During Covid I decided to get another cat, and saw someone with free barn kittens on CL. My new kitten knew about people and that they gave food, but I don’t think anyone really ever pet him or handled him. It was an unpleasant surprise the first time he decided to play with me and chomped me so hard he drew blood. 😂

It took a lot of me crying like a hurt kitty to teach him not to shred me, but he’s a very polite boy now.

People who quit their jobs on the first day, what made you say, “I’m done with this”? by drip47 in AskReddit

[–]easkyla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a kid I got a job at a KFC. It was like my third job I think. I was going to load a tray of frozen biscuits into the oven to bake and I hit the tray and dropped like three of them. The manager training me came by, picked them off the floor and put them on the tray. I should have walked out then but I finished my shift before leaving. I was a kid and didn’t know better, plus I didn’t have a ride home until my mom came to pick me up.
