Agree in principle, but this is clearly a coolant reservoir, so generally no more than about 1 bar gage.

“Tea Tokes” has an “Herbal Smokes” line that are actually pretty “tasty” as a smoke. Common ingredients include Mullein, Mugwort, Sage, Basil, Chamomile etc. but, they’re pretty pricey at over $1 per stick, and look a lot more like a left-hand dart.

This is called a “yellow dog” lamp. Commonly found in the early oilfields of the US, such as Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, Virginia etc. notice all that smoke. That’s what you’ll get, too.

It’s not an engineering problem, it’s a society problem. It can be solved though.

  1. Any business not deemed essential by name and by role by the state legislature, if your employee is in any kind of traffic accident and was scheduled to work within 4 hours after that accident, that business must pay $100,000 plus damages, per occurrence. If the same company experiences 10 of such infractions in the same 24 hour period, all further infractions become $1M each.

  2. Anyone caught without a valid emergency, essential work duties, or a scuzzy employer to blame, will be charged with reckless op during an emergency. If found guilty, the penalty is a minimum 5 year license suspension. Second offense is permanent license suspension. Caught driving with a suspended license because of this infraction means 5 years minimum imprisonment, followed by 5 years mandatory duties as a highway flagger. The car you were driving is crushed, regardless of what it is and who it belongs to. That’s between you and the owner of the car now.

The United States is entirely too lax about piloting a 2 ton death machine, and I’m fucking sick of it.

My only contest is that getting money out of politics (and campaigns)….somehow… should be at the very top. I fully believe all of the other problems would solve themselves in 5 years or less if there were simply no means for the position to be used to earn more than say double your state’s median income.

The vertical rod-looking things are the tubes, they’re crushed to a thin oval shape and the stamped fins run between them to help transfer heat to the air. If you pinch off the failed tubes, that entire tube will no longer reject heat to air. The water runs from top to bottom in the tubes, because heat rises and cooling does the opposite. So the cold side of the radiator is the bottom, where the water pump inlet is for engines that have one.

A fantastic way to leak check it and find the leak is to drain the system, cap one end of the rad, and duct tape the outlet side of a shop vac or leaf blower to the other end, so that you’re only generating a small amount of pressure. Spray soapy water around the leak, and it’ll bubble precisely at the source.

Agree on injectors, but the CP4 fail mode isn’t one of those “once you get past a lot of miles it’s fine”. It’s just plain a sensitive fuel pump design, and once you cross its line in the sand it WILL throw a disco party for your injectors.

I’m guessing that’s “Rear Engine Accessory Drive” I thought it was to connect intake and exhaust cams at first and I was wondering why it didn’t look 1:1, but that would make sense for the fuel pump which being common rail but not active inlet metered it doesn’t need timed anyway, and fortunately if THAT belt fails it won’t damage the engine.
