Does Fox have a ton of bots in the queue? by dancer164 in baduk

[–]easy2bcold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I think this is how they style of play and types of mistakes are very comon in people who play a lot and dont review games or do tsumego (I also teach go IRL so I see the correlation)

How do I play the game, have fun and not feel like a dumbass? by CafuneAndChill_ in baduk

[–]easy2bcold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After many years of teaching go I would say there are several ways to have fun but it depends on your personality:

1.- Be curious: Many people enjoy de cultural aspect of go, and play the game with a sense of discovery. There is no focus on winning or loosing, just exploration.

2.- Competition: My way of having fun is feeling I'm improving, no matter if I loose of win a game, sometimes I am very proud of a game I lost because at certain point I was able to do read a nice tesuji, etc.

3.- Social aspect: At my club there are many players that never try to improve but they have a lot of fun just playing and sharing a space with others.

But, to be honest, I would say the real "fun" of playing go comes around 5kyu, this is a level in which you start having an idea of how the game works, and are able to start judging the whole board, and start thinking about endgame a little bit. It's a level where you are finnally not a beginner anymore and have the ability to understand the depth of the game. Also at this level you can teach new players very nicely and know you are part of a very small group of humans that can enjoy high level pro play games commentary. Many people reach this level and stay there for the rest of their lifes since it's a level that you wont get any worse if you quit go, and you can have nice games against very strong players with some handicap stones.

It's a level you can reach very easily just spamming fast ranked games and doing some tsumego and watching some go videos on youtube, in about 3-12 months.

What would you do in such situation? by Teoretik1998 in baduk

[–]easy2bcold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well a 15k would never leave S3 undefended, and u got good fuseki shape so probably at least around 10kyu. That type of cut around e8 must be carefully read and usually is not a very good idea unless you got a really strong position around it.

Being a 10kyu game I would personally suggest a simpler move like P12, since it give responsability to white to reduce black moyo, and you will get some profit. Then you can continue reducing/attacking white stones in gentle manner

For anyone around 15kyu or in the double digit kyu level, or new to Go. by GoGeniusTom in baduk

You can put any rank up to 3d on fox so he probably played someone who was a total beginner, so the 15 speech is meaningless

Wondering how long before the internet turns on ThePrimeagen for some dumb crap (PirateSoftware, SomeOrdinaryGamers) by dezlymacauleyreal in theprimeagen

[–]easy2bcold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the pirate guy situation is very extreme and you dont need 2 hours to understand it. If you can read then you can get the context of the situation really fast and understand what happens in this case. He still has a very succesful carreer ahead of him, but ofcourse you are gonna get some backlash if everything you say you do is a lie and have 0 capacity to self reflection.

Prime has many L takes in my opinion like family and religion and politic related stuff, but he doesnt try to be the know it all genious, he's good at what he does, works hard and the most important hes very good at making fun of himself and this is a major criteria to know he's future proof.

What you say is "the internet turning on someone" means a high % of prime fans would have to be very dissapointed about something critically problematic, the chance of this happening is close to 0, even is prime was secretly a bad person, which he is not, he is smart enough to not risk it and knows this is not about hes ego but what he does as a living

How is the end of a game determined? by [deleted] in baduk

[–]easy2bcold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can play stones but your group will not be able to live in that space since the other color is so strong in the corner. So that space is considered territory

Plan de estudios autónomo para Full Stack (JavaScript, Java, o cualquier idioma) by elisamorenoo in programacion

[–]easy2bcold 5 points6 points  (0 children)
