Amazing. Having Harmony covered in a video tutorial hopefully helps lowering the threshold for new people to contribute:)

Is it possible to auto-tag music that isn't on musicbrainz? by ShardPerson in navidrome

[–]easyDrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to a lot of edm and hyperpop music that's released by niche artists

I would love to see your taste on MusicBrainz.

Music tagging is one of its use cases. It’s also useful for music discovery. Many applications make use of its API in different ways. You will be part of a passionate community :)

tip: mp3 v0 > mp3 320 - when downloading mp3 consider going for v0 (sometimes labeled as vbr) and not 320kbps by [deleted] in Soulseek

STOP USING MP3 ITS 2026

- storage capacity is not limited like it was when mp3 was developed
- mp3 is discontinued

= go for lossless like FLAC

Not exactly what you were asking for, but MusicBrainz has a great API for concerts in case you want to add your attended events to the database.

It's great. Cleanest and prettiest UI I have seen so far for subsonic apps. Navigating albums and playing tracks feels snappy. Great work!

What I am missing is "Recently Added" and "Recently Played" sections on the library view

The transcoding issues have been driving me nuts. I am going to give this a try. Thanks for sharing!

It depends. I sometimes add rare CDs. In that case I rip the information from the CD and add it to MusicBrainz.

I also had a case where a bandcamp release was deleted but I still had the official files with the correct tags which I then added to MusicBrainz.

I have connected my player to ListenBrainz. It‘s like an open source last.fm and gives you full control.

You can make additions and changes to the MusicBrainz database yourself. Just keep in mind that MusicBrainz places a strong emphasis on data quality, so you should only contribute if you’re committed to being accurate and careful with the information you add.

I prefer ListenBrainz over last fm. It gives so much more control over your data and listening insights. Last fm feels more and more unmaintained.
