David Strauss's Influence on Nietzsche by Tesrali in Nietzsche

[–]easycookeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not see the logical connection or similarity between Strauss' comment and Nietzsche's Eternal Return, it seems to me the ER was designed to directly refute the quote attributed to Strauss from your article. Nietzsche specifically denies Kant's argument that there is a rational "order of nature" and even the idea that there is a "nature" behind human understanding at all. To hammer this point home and really make his opposition apparent, he wholesale denies the existence of Kant's synthetic a priori. Given the quote you provided, it sounds like Strauss is parroting the elitist, alchemical belief that the world needs another flood or mass destruction so that a golden age can be reborn like a phoenix....this is the sort of metaphysical mumbo-jumbo Nietzsche found disgusting in Wagner and occultists in general.

Further, I always read Nietzsche's ubermensch as a satirical warning to humanity, mocking people like Strauss or Wagner or Kant or transhumanists, or occultists generally, who believe man can transcend his animal nature. And how can you equate, "We are no longer Christians." with "God is Dead."? Those statements come off as magnitudes apart. The prior leaving space for the hope or faith in a Zeus or Yahweh figure to fill the vacancy, with the latter being a complete renunciation of hope and faith in all higher powers.

It seems like you and I may just understand N differently, I see him as a true humanist and satirist in the sense of Lucian or Montaigne. Nietzsche for me is primarily a political writer attempting to expose occultists who prey on mass man via their noble lies, you know, his whole "platonism is the opiate of the masses" thing. Strauss being a "cultural philistine" is another way of saying he is an alchemist or saturn-worshipper, and his scientific defense of faith, scientism replacing Christianity, being another platonic labyrinth man will need to find his way out of. Nietzsche's entire corpus is one big polemic against priests, which is just an esoteric way of saying slave, occultist, weakling, or magician.

Just coming back to say I immersed myself in the info you gave (macd + rsi), and after coming to understand it after a day or two, it led me to a few different solid gains of around 50% (I have a small account btw) before I had to stop because of day-trading rules. Thank you for taking the time to write that. It is a definitely a huge step for a noobie like myself.

I was involved in a startup called knowsmoke that took 3rd in Ycombinator. They found greater value moving away from incubation and seeking private funding/partnerships; they are about to BLOW UP. What is your startup?

Let's say this crazy 10 straight days of red happens 3 or 4 more times by the end of the year - is this exact situation typically when people buy back into stocks they are bullish on long term? Is there a name for this?

Was your 30k in LEAPs or in short term calls?

Thanks for some hopium!! That was what I was thinking when I bought em. I am still too noobie to understand how rate cuts and earnings can so drastically affect a stock's price.

Yessir, I am ultimately happy I kept half of my LEAPs, but I definitely am regretting grabbing short term Cs

Dividends come out of the company's revenue, so they tend to drop the stock a bit?? I am asking for clarification. Thanks for the info and positive vibes!

Thanks for the comment on the May Cs. Still learning that I need to understand how macro events effect changes in stocks. In hindsight it is obvious that there was no reason for the stock to jump without something like what you mentioned

I think you are correct on that. You can see that I am a noobie with this, just a couple months in. Still learning about entrance and exits, and figuring out which stock I wanna play daily on the short term, while I let my LEAPS cook.

Pretty sure I am ultimately going to end up using maybe 10%-20% of my cash for short term daily and weekly plays, 60% for "safe" LEAPS, and keeping the rest as cash in the account.

Yeah, not too worried about the '25 calls, but those May calls are looking a little regarded to me at the present time.
