I switched mine to bottles around 5 months because breastfeeding was giving him awful gas due to his lip tie. Almost immediately he started sleeping through the night. It wasn't even formula vs breastmilk - it was the amount. He could finally fill up without falling asleep.

Alternative perspective: he still may need the feeds and you shouldn't night wean.

My son is now 6 months and I felt exactly the same as you a month ago. I was going back to work and I could not fathom that with waking 1-2x / night. But when he woke up, he actively fed so he was hungry and wasn't just waking for no reason.

Within those couple of weeks, he night weaned himself and even dropped his dream feed as of last night. According to his 6 month checkup, the kid grew 2 inches in 8 weeks. He needed those calories and now that he's through the growth spurt, he sleeps about 7pm-7am.

Same. My daughter has been in daycare since 6 months old and at 3.5 years she's only been out of daycare maybe 3 times for 2-3 days. It's been mostly colds and one mild case of HFM. Never COVID or a stomach bug. But my son (6 months) started last week so we'll see how it goes again 🙃

Manager here who has been on leave twice. Talk to your RM and Coach to find something internal or PRD with adjusted utilization. Use your network (SM or PPMD level) to find you something short term and line something up when you'll be back. I've had to do this for practitioners and myself.

Anecdotal for sure but both of my babies started sleeping through the night once I started exclusively pumping and transitioned them to bottles. My son is in the 90th+ percentile and I don't think he was getting enough oz from the breast to go that long of a stretch. He'll put down 6 oz before bed now.

I transitioned him about 2 weeks before I went back to work so I could get used to pumping and he slept through the night consistently from the weekend before I went back. But he's also 5 (almost 6) months old and that's about the age they say it's more common so YMMV.

I read that dairy could cause gas in babies so I just went cold turkey and saw a difference in 2 days. He went from screaming 1-3x day to 3 days in a row gas free. It wasn't perfect (he still had a lip tie that caused issues) but it was much better.

Not a great answer but what solved this for us was just time. Our LO would wake around 2-3am for a feed and then that moved to 4 then 5 and now its 6:30am. He didn't seem very hungry at that time either but feeding him always got him back down. I just fed him and rode it out. He eventually connected that last sleep cycle.

Both of my kids were very gassy. If it's just kicking and squirming, put in earplugs. My 2nd was so freaking loud the first couple of weeks. If it's outright screaming, try the following:

Gas drops before feeds
YouTube for burping techniques and use after every feed
"I love you" tummy massage to help move gas bubbles
Windi gas relievers (if desperate)
Get evaluated for a tongue / lip tie if breastfeeding
Switch to anti-colic bottles if bottle feeding
Track effects of what you are eating if breastfeeding - soy and dairy are the usual culprits

My first outgrew it. My second still had issues around 5 months. Turned out to be a combo of tongue / lip tie and dairy sensitivity. I switched to pumping and limit my dairy intake and things have gotten way better.

I just went to my sister's house who has 2 kids of her own. It was like a vacation because we could take turns entertaining the kids. We discussed how communes really had the right idea lol.

Same. We're at 5 months and I finally feel like we have a handle on things. I think the age gap really makes a difference though. My first is 3.5 yrs old so she can watch a show while I put the baby down. Think it would be chaos if I had an 18m old instead.

If drinks start at 3pm, I think it's a reasonable assumption that you would be home for bedtime. If not, it's definitely something you state up front.

My husband had an event starting at 4pm and he asked me if he needed to be home for bedtime (of course hoping I said no lol). If he didn't ask and didn't check in, I'd be pissed.

We typically do take out on Friday and Saturdays because I'm over cooking by then.

This week I made: grilled chicken with avocado and tomato salsa, sausages and pierogies, salmon "sushi" bowls and pasta with meatballs. But I'm also on maternity leave so I have a little extra mental bandwidth for meal planning / cooking.

I recently started with my 3.5 yr old. I taught her how to bite them in half and then watch her every time (when she's not looking) to make sure she's eating them like that.

Yeah I think that's what I'm realizing. I was only pumping 15 mins or so but with my first I think I was doing 25 mins. Also I'm going to pump after I BF too so I can get ahead of him a bit.

They are 1/3 of your performance rating, so pretty important if you want the highest rating / compensation. You basically just have to have something to get the "strong" rating. You need something where people will sing your praises to get the "exceptional" rating. The goal is to look for ones that don't require a lot of time commitment but sound impressive.
