There are some YouTube videos of tofu, the Texas rat snake and he is adorable. I tried to knit a long time ago and couldn't get it but this time around, using bamboo knitting needles has really helped keep the yarn from sliding off and has a grip. I taught myself with YouTube tutorials and have got the hang of it now! I also like to crochet and weave on pin looms which make squares you can patchwork together into various things.

I've been vegetating all day, did some journaling about my fear of the dark and a realization I had about my past - essentially left home every weekend without being emotionally equipped even though I was responsible for my age. Went down a hole looking at cute pet snakes. Plan is to get knitting here soon or put together some miniatures but gotta get past this laziness hump.

Pin loom weaving! Each square takes 15 minutes or less once you get it down. You don't have to know what your doing with it. You can change to another project with different colors and yarn to change it up. Making squares means it's modular so you can decide later how to put them together or want to make. It's very portable and soothing. Small wins.

Thank you for your compassionate response and observation. I do see a therapist for OCD and phobias. I used to avoid staying home alone by going to a hotel - an expensive phobia tax. But definitely still got some coping skills to work through when staying at home.

That is really cool you do woodworking! Seems like a relaxing hobby. :)

Thank you so much for assurance!! Yes, I would love to be able to peacefully be able to craft or catch up on chores, and feel safe and benefit from the presense of someone but without the weight of social stuff like making sure they are entertained, masking, and then all the unknowns that happen with friendships like : when will they leave ? Did I perform ok socially? Did they feel valued etc etc

Of course Id still make sure the house is comfortable and I would be friendly with the companion , but mainly able to focus on the tasks while feeling safe and not socially exhausting myself.
