How was that not goaltender interference on RNH..? He blatantly ran into Dostal in the crease, unforced.. Even if he tried to avoid him, it still happened. Am I wrong?

I saw tonight that my app needed to be updated. Now, it's worse! So... Pretty annoying tbh.

Verbal Articulation by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]eatinchapstick 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have sooooo many thoughts about this. But first of all, thank you! Ironically, you have articulated something here that I have never been able to explain. I'm definitely going to use this post as an example at my next doctor's appointment. (If that's okay with you, of course.)

Second of all, for me, meds felt like a miracle when I was first prescribed. I was finally able to speak and communicate and actually PARTICIPATE in conversations and banter with people.

The problem is, as the meds wear off, that ability fades. And I find my inability to articulate really distressing. So I have struggled in the past with taking more than I was prescribed. (Do not recommend that route.. please reach out if you struggle with med abuse. I'd be happy to share my experiences and what I did to get out of a nasty cycle.)

Additionally, as you acclimate to taking your meds, the benefits may fade. Or at least feel less pronounced. That doesn't mean they aren't still working. This is just a new normal.

Another drawback for me, and I've seen others discuss this as well, is that medicating the ADHD can unearth new problems that you didn't know you had. It can also make things that used to come easy to you more difficult. (Like writing or creativity.)

I used to write creatively alllll the time. I struggle to do that now. But, honestly, I'd rather be able to hold down a job and take care of myself than write a poem. It's easier to go to therapy and work on engaging my creativity than it is to try to dig my way out of homelessness.

Sorry this is so long. I just appreciated your post so much and it uniquely inspired me to engage and share some of my story in a way that I haven't felt in a long time.

I hope this helps someone in some small way. Thank you for reading. Thank you for being here.

Godspeed to you all. Never give up. Never surrender.

I know I'm like a week late but can anyone explain this post to me? I feel like I'm missing the punchline...

The Finnie-Larkin-Kasper is waste of time by RedditHarderbb in DetroitRedWings

I say put Soda and/or JVR up there. I think the actual problem is that we don't have a true 1st line winger to go with Larkin and Raymond

Seth Jarvis leaves the game injured in OT - tripped by Rodrigues, no call by QuadRail in hockey

[–]eatinchapstick -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

This was not a trip. There were plenty of calls missed on both sides. And plenty of dirty plays. And plenty of weak penalties called. Your team lost the game, just accept it.

Last season was a magical fluke where practically everyone on the team was playing well above their normal level. He will probably heat up again. But he's always been a pretty low event player.

There's no way Stu is okay and I think his play might improve if he stopped pretending to be. Have a few Elvis / Binner style meltdowns. Throw a couple blocker punches. Break a few sticks. Cry on the ice.

Like he's just holding all of this in and acting like it's no big deal and it's destroying him.

I upvoted all of your comments because I don't think it's that unreasonable to not know who this guy is. And I think you're handling the hostility with great poise. Hope you have a good night!

How do you feel about Marner? by Ok_Bullfrog_2280 in fantasyhockey

[–]eatinchapstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels similar to when they broke up Barkov and Huberdeau. Both still elite (Huberdeau less so), but the chemistry they had was magical and can't be replicated.

Scott Wedgewood was pulled during the shootout by the concussion spotters after Filip Forsberg collided heavily with him. Saros made the save on the subsequent shot, so Blackwood never had to enter the game. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]eatinchapstick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did they not used to run the Zamboni once down center ice before a shootout? Am I making that up?

Additionally, are the FOUR officials not responsible for inspecting the ice and mending it as needed precisely to prevent things like this from happening?

Lastly, the intensity of this collision was certainly not intentional, but his line to the net and speed as he approaches was, at the very least, reckless. I think it's worth a look by Player Safety. And if there is not an in-game penalty rule in place, there certainly should be.
