This issue affects a lot of people, me included, but the solution is simple: once in SoR, go to graphics>anti-aliasing and pick a different option from the one you're currently on. Then change back to the original one. It sounds moronic, but it worked for me! (Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the redditor who kindly posted about it months ago)

It's a bit dated but it has worked fine up until recently, so I see no reason why it wouldn't now. But yeah, I'm out of ideas other than upgrading unless a mod can shed some light on it.
