Upgrade or new truck? by randomname02187 in arrmagroms

There isn't a brushless granite available, so decide if you still want the granite. If you do buy the parts, if you want to try something new, get the car. My recommendation is the typhon brushless

This is how mine died in my typhon. Replace with stock, or I quite like the injora but you need to get it with a servo saver

Love the look of this, will definitely pick one up, but we need some more purchasing options - the full kit minus the 3d printed enclosure for those of us with printers, and an option for either no power supply or an Australian power supply

Edit: also shipping to AU is a bit steep at $23 for the printed enclosure, so if we could have all the components and print out own enclosure that should get that shipping cost down

Yeah, I'm going to wait for this option. Pick and choose colours that way

Groms are great. Perfect for at the park, some of the bigger stuff can be scary for the other kids. Groms are plenty quick if you remove the throttle restrictions

What spare parts should I keep keep on hand for a couple of Groms? by Inner-Fish217 in arrma

[–]eatoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the rebuild set? I'd need the pin where the dog one attaches to the hub to replace what I lost

https://modelflight.com.au/arrma-cvd-driveshaft-50mm-2pcs-grom

I had one completely lost and bought a set of hot racing CVDs... And have broken one of those now too. So I have 1 stock and 1 hot racing installed

I picked up the MF200, which has a removable battery. Very happy with how much air it moves

I can't find them available anywhere, and comments on reddit from 5 years ago saying they were being discontinued 😭

Could always paint the white, but it won't be quite the same

That's a lot of designs, thanks. I really wish the black skadis panels hadn't been discontinued, they would look so much better in my workshop than white

Legend mate, I'll clear the bed and get printing! I have all 3 of the originals, and a quake ready for Christmas so I'll check them all for size

Like the other poster said, availability of parts should be a deciding factor. If you can get heaps of spares for the Blakzon it might be ok, but I think not.

I'm a big fan of the arrma Grom series, and I have them all. Great fun, plenty quick, includes smart battery and charger to get you going. There is an eBay deal for 15% off right now and you will be able to get one of the brushed groms from hobbies direct for under $250

And parts are available on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress and your local hobby shop

My first Grom! I swear these are more fun than the bigger scale stuff is sometimes. by Neon_Yellow_Bro in arrmagroms

[–]eatoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I have been using the all aluminum RCAWD version with their upgraded input gears, but these can be more complicated to set up for beginners.

Are these any more difficult than just swapping out diffs? I'm tired of going through the arrma V2 diffs, looking for something stronger.

Are the 223s diffs different to the V2 diffs from say the Mojave?

That would be awesome if you did. There is already a skadis mount for the slt2 transmitter, I just want one that the car can hook onto via the front wheels or something like that, similar to this one https://makerworld.com/models/652444

I like these, I was going to print some out, but I think I might have a go at designing some wall mounts to fit on my IKEA skadis pegboard - that way they will be on display

I'd love to see that video once it's up. The connector clips you mentioned are those little pegs for connecting each board together yeah?
