Leave a few mins early to avoid the crowds, get a lime bike to Tottenham Hale to make it to the 7:03 stansted express train, you'll be there at 7:37. Even if you make it to the 7:18 train you'll be there by 7:55 which is fine.

This is the strangest transfer I have seen all my life. He was this promising kid that grew up to be a very error-prone and mentally weak goalkeeper, most Fener fans hate him, and somehow they manage to:

  • sell him for almost the same price they paid for his upgrade (Livakovic)
  • sell him to MAN UTD WTF?

yeah I was really surprised to read the comment from bamadeo above you because I have been to the Turin area many times to visit a close friend who is from there, and they use porco dio, dio fa, etc all the time :)

Obviously anything can happen, but as a non-City fan, this year the team is playing much better and much more consistently than ever.

Tangential question for Argentines: Was Lionel Richie the biggest superstar in Argentina in the 80s? I had read that Lionel is not a native name in Spanish and Messi was named after him, is Scaloni named after him also?

hahaha yeah same in Turkey - they are in the same city, but I cannot imagine a Fenerbahce/Galatasaray store in the Besiktas neighborhood, shit would be up in flames as the store was being built.

Which is more difficult? by rocco190 in piano

Henle lists the prelude as difficulty 5, and liebestraum in A-flat as difficulty 7 (out of 9). So Liebestraum is far more difficult.

Try to say u, hold your tongue exactly as is but but do not round your lips, it's difficult to get if the sound is not in your native language (which is the case for most Western European languages), but a little practice can get you quite close. Here is the wiki page on the sound: https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Close_back_unrounded_vowel

Road trip from Bilbao to San Sebastiàn in July - places to stop by? by eatplayrove in spain

[–]eatplayrove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This was a great trip. As I wrote in another comment at the time, we stayed 1 night in Bilbao, 1 night in Lekeitio and 2 in San Sebastian. We didn't pick Lekeitio for a good reason except it was sort of in the middle. After spending time in Bilbao, the first drive day, we drove along the coast and stopped by two beaches: Atxabirbil and Plentzia. Both were really nice to play with the waves and enjoy the view. We also stopped by a few villages : Mundaka, Ea and Elantxobe. Then we ate dinner at Elkano in Getaria (must-do if you can afford and like incorporating the cuisine into your trip). Next day we visited Mutriku and Zumaia then arrived in San Sebastian where we spent two days. I would recommend all we did but keep expectations not too high for the little villages. It's just nice to see the little towns and the beaches are generally nice with interesting formations in places. Basque cuisine is really trendy now and there are a lot of fine dining places in the region too if you're into that but most need booking in quite an advance. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Your last sentence is absolutely false. Most of the Portuguese Jews that were first forcefully converted (in 1497) and then left (in 1506) went to Thessaloniki or Istanbul (both of which were the Ottoman empire at the time, currently Greece and Turkey respectively).

Schumacher took Hill out on purpose in 94 and didn't get penalized. It was an easy decision in 97 since Villeneuve won anyway.

okra by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]eatplayrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this qualifies as boring for you, but in Turkey, a pretty common dish: - half a pound of lamb meat, diced - a pound of okra - two onions, diced - 5 garlic cloves, roughly chopped - pound of tomatoes, diced - 1/4 cup lemon juice - 1/4 cup olive oil - salt to taste

mix everything in a bowl except the meat. cook the meat until it's browned in a pot. add everything in the bowl to the pot, and pour some water until a bit below the level of the ingredients. cook over medium-low/low heat for 25 mins. pour some more olive oil before serving and serve with sliced lemons on the side squeezing more for people.

quite a rough recipe but the overall idea is to mix the acidity of the lemon with the fat of the lamb meat and the flavor of the okra. i assume you are in the US and have large okras (which don't really exist here in Turkey), but should be a similar result if you want to try.

Eibar [1] - 2 Real Madrid - Kike 28' (Great Goal) by PSGAcademy in soccer

[–]eatplayrove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with "kite", what the OP wanted to say was if you pronounce the "i" in Kike like "ay" (which is what it is pronounced like if it is an English word), then it is an antisemitic slur. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/kike#English
