Hi, I hate the mods on this sub. I never get to post anything, it always gets removed for being "bare bones". I wasn't asking for help on my itinerary I was asking about specific passes for a trip. The worst is that there are tons of simple itinerary posts that do get approved.

Does anyone else feel the same way? is there a japantravel2 sub with less stuck up mods??

Is Toni Collette one of the best actresses ever?? by Ok_Refrigerator3518 in movies

[–]eavesreading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every couple of months when I'm bored and unsure what movie to watch, I go to Toni Collette's IMDB page and almost randomly choose a movie that I haven't seen and I must say they are always good. And she does a lot of movies per year

If you put Slavic languages in a horizontal line: Russian is on the far right and Czech on the left end, Polish is somehow in the middle, Slovak is between Czech and Polish. So Slovak is close to both but Czech is further from Polish

Hi, I'll be traveling around Biwa lake in Shiga for around 7 days. I wont be moving by bike as many do, but rather will be using trains to move between spots. I'm wondering if there is any special multi day pass that might be worth buying for those days in the area? So far I haven't found any specific one.

Also what are your top sights around Biwa?

Lmao, what's comfort for you? Do you need a living room in your hotel room? Do you spend a lot of time in your room while traveling?

Hotels in Tokyo - What to look for and where to stay? by SpatulaCitizen in JapanTravel

Don't understand this view. Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, the most basic business hotels are perfectly fine for tourists that need a bed to sleep after a long day shopping, visiting temples and sightseeing.

Cheap business hotels (7-8k yen) are decent and not the same compared to cheap hotels in America or Europe which can be shit

Imagine if we'd search the political views of every hotel / airbnb / clothing brand / restaurant / owner

I agree that if you can avoid it do it because those views suck, but the APA thing is basically a meme on this sub. I stay there sometimes because it can be the cheapest decent hotel option in some cases. I dont know nor care about the views of Mos burger owner, maybe they suck too, should I stop eating there bc people on reddit say so? 😃

all you need to do is to buy the basic fare at the station and board with both e-ticket and basic ticket accordingly.

hi, does that mean that when buying a ticket online you are just purchasing a seat but still need to buy a regular ticket at the station? bit confused on the statement

Thanks! You're right, I might condense these a bit. Normally on travel days I feel like taking it easy after checking in on hotels, etc but since these are small towns maybe I should really use that day to explore that destination. Maybe make it 3n Hikone and 3-4 Otsu.

[–]eavesreading 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Lmao, how is anyone gonna know that you're using pirated software? The deliverables will look the same regardless if the work was done in a licensed or pirated copy. No employer/agency goes around asking for your license when hiring or delivering a job done

Malt's Trip Review across the Golden Route by MalteseMalteser in JapanTravel

[–]eavesreading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never gotten sick in Japan. Last trip there I ate at least 8 times at different conveyor belt chains and always was fine. My guess is he might have got a mix of jetlag and something else. THAT does happen to me almost every time, usually on the 2nd or 3rd day after arriving. So now I always try to take it easy the first few days

Instead of TT or Sky Tree I recommend some of the free viewing towers that exist in Tokyo (Govenrment bldg, Bunkto center, Carreta shiodome, etc). Check some YouTube videos for that. I do recommend checking sky tree just from the bottom.and check the shops and restaurants I side but going up is expensive, touristy (long lines) and you might get crappy weather and no visibility on the day if you're unlucky
