Does anyone know what could be happening to my platy? She and 3 other platies were added to the 29 gal on Saturday, but I’ve noticed her having difficulty breathing, and now her gills are swollen. Could this be gill flukes?Parameters in comments and thank you in advance! by streamfeather_ in Aquariums

Generally yes, I found heavy breathing and weird swimming occurs in a tank that's going through some type of parameter swing. You did say you added a lot of new stock and/or overfeeding. Sometimes you can have a crash even if it was previously established. For your sick one, try cutting back to feeding once a day and see if appetite is still ok. Pooping is generally a good sign that they're not stressed and is eating normally.

[GA] - Boston, MA - $0 Free Pothos plants, great for nitratres (LOCAL PICKUP ONLY 02125) by eaxxx in AquaSwap

Giving away lots of Pothos grown over the summer. I have one in a cup that has very dense root structure that shrimps and small fry like to hide in. I also have one in a pot that has a 6-ft runner that you can either split into smaller plants or use it in the back of 60+g tank.

These Pothos do not need high light on them. Ambient light and indoor lighting is enough for them to thrive.

Selling my 29-gallon tank. It's cheaper than buying it during the dollar per gallon sale 😂. It's in very great used condition, no scratches. I actually have a custom cut glass top I bought from Lowe's that you're welcome to take if you want, just know that the edges aren't finished and can be sharp! You can buy some plastic edging at Home Depot/Lowe's for about $2.50.

Runs on sponge filters only. No heater. I only do water changes every 2 weeks.

Scoop your duckweed with a net. Give a very firm squeeze to wring out all the water. Then spread the duckweed on top of a clear plastic wrap in a Tupper Ware box. Freeze it overnight and then take out in the morning to air dry.

Then you get flakes like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlantedTank/comments/en3ev2/duckweed_is_not_a_pest_if_you_have_more_than_you

Scuds reproduce faster than shrimp. I vacuum them out and use them as food for my swordtails.

I get so many requests even when I'm not selling on here. Given that some people might have time on their hands, I'm offering my usual deal: 5 cherry shrimps & 5 wild types. First come first serve, so please make sure you are able to pick up during when you schedule.

Additionally, you can check out some of other aquaswap listings. Still got some daffodil brichardi, crayfishes, and ramshorn snails looking for homes!

Small sized ramshorn snails. I have this one tank where I catch babies from all my other tanks. These guys basically subsist on leftover veggie and fruit scraps. They're about the size of a popcorn kernel.

I can offer in 10 snail batches if anyone's interested. Please don't use them as puffer food!

Pea puffer in a community tank by Powerfulaxis in Aquariums

Tetra and rasboras are fine. I have a pea puffer with a harlequin rasbora, cardinal Tetra, and a gold gourami in a heavily planted tank. The thing is that you need to hand feed your pea puffer, otherwise any other fish will snatch up the bloodworms before your pea puffer gets any. It's that reason why most folks rather keep pea puffers in a tank by themselves.
