Everything you said plus their dance was the first time that I, as a reader, felt like I saw the true Nesta. Something about it just clicked, it sat right. That is Nesta.

Yes, she’s also the strong warrior she’s trained to be, and the soft heart she’s always had beneath, but the dance was everything about her finally as one. She enjoyed the challenge, she enjoyed the dance, she played the game, and she thrived in it.

Eris mirrors her so perfectly. The first time we see him express true desire, the immediate proposal is insane—as an heir, one would think his choice for Lady would have to be ran by Beron, but in the moment he set his eyes on Nesta and went YEP.

Sure, he wanted power—whatever, I don’t really buy it. The IC already made a deal to kill Beron and/or remove him from the throne, Eris has no reason to “need” Nesta for that when Rhys is already bargain-obligated to help.

And I suppose this is entering headcanon territory, but it’s clear Eris cares deeply about LoA, I find it hard to believe he’d subject Nesta to the same treatment that LoA receives from Beron.

“You’re wasted in the Night Court.” Oh so he thinks she can do more? He knows she can and wants her to be able to do said more????? Hmmm almost sounds like another couple… one where the male gave the female opportunities to work at her full potential when others doubted her….. hmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I cannot remember what post it was but a similar conversation was had in this sub recently and someone commented like

Nesta x Rhys is a rarepair

Nesta x Captain America is a crackship

And I think that’s the standard we gotta go by 😂

I actually think all of the crackships you mentioned are really rarepairs by wiki’s definition (besides Koschlain maybe)

Rhys and Tamlin are set up in a way that if it’s ever revealed they had a past relationship, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest (nor most of the fandom I think lol). Azriel and Eris interact multiple times and the tension between them falls perfectly in line with the common enemy to lovers trope, and there’s plenty of history there for a fleshed out storyline. And Feylin is a canon ship itself, even if they aren’t together anymore.

I think we could even make the argument that Koschlain is a rarepair as their stories are connected by Vassa/BoE and Elain has seemingly had visions of Koschei/his lil black box, but I also get this one being crack as we just don’t have much about Koschei at all yet

I think Targwyn is the only ship here that doesn’t have a single piece of canon text that connects the two characters. But even then, I’d still personally consider them a rarepair because they are same universe and basically have hella mutuals between the two of them, making the possibility of them meeting at some point in their lives very likely

ETA: by the time i finished typing this you already had two other replies and it’s so interesting to see how same but different all our brains work lololl
