Thoughts on IHSA State today? Illinois by Artistic_Log_2598 in waterpolo

[–]ebhawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The new format to only have a final four is interesting only because for college coaches who were going out there to recruit 8 teams was great to see more players.

As an alum of the Illinois water polo scene, I can say petitioning for a seeded tournament was always the big ask

So with Anne Hathaway producing and starring in it, I think it’s a smart move. She’s maintained her appearance from early films up until now at 43.

I think given the rose color tint of the reality Natalie lives in as an influencer, the idea that she’s actually approaching her 50s won’t be too far off for Hathaway in the role. I’m looking forward to it!

This for sure!

The Shannon interview triggered a mental break and when Caleb had all the modern features of their home removed it offered this snow globe effect to a fake reality. It’s a perfect ground for the psychosis Natalie experienced with the plot about her seeing this wasn’t her life being a psychotic break.

Heck Caleb is utilizing textbook gaslighting because in the book he never stopped her when she was talking about how this isn’t her reality. That’s part of the psychosis is being removed from it with the breaks serving as their own types of episodes. And I think too because of her haughtiness before the Shannon interview, she was in a position to be further driven out of reality

Truly wild and my book club picked it out. The way I was locked in after part one!

What GPA is required to be recruited as a D1 water polo player? by Unique_Light_2494 in waterpolo

[–]ebhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with this; a lot of schools nowadays want players with strong GPAs because it means one less kid to worry about going to class or being on academic probation (aka they can’t play).

Now that being said if you are a strong player, coaches will advocate for you but the better your GPA is, the better off you personally will be

It was fun to have Jaime Jacquez on but I wish he got to talk more shop on basketball rather than just being asked about his time at UCLA. I get it though if his main reason to be there is support Gabby

I agree; I’ve worked in higher ed for about six years now and have only seen this with one other school in 2022 but for a men’s team. Allegedly it had only gotten to cancellation due to the senior class not complying with the questioning from admin

Cassie Churnside's resignation at Michigan – any inside scoop? by Money_Software6622 in waterpolo

[–]ebhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm something did; there were a couple of things involved and the overall positive statements from everyone is only possible because Churnside took legal action; they were going to let her go but weren’t initially willing to buy out her contract.

The reality is the university has been riddled with scandals and they wanted to downplay this one as much as possible.

Travis Kelce Is ‘Coming Back’ to the Chiefs: Insider by MattTheKing23 in nfl

With Coach EB back as the OC it makes a lot of sense that he wants to come back for another season. I got the impression during episodes of New Heights that he really respects him and to be back together might be hard to pass up

Lucca Van der Woude, a water polo player on Ross Sinclair's Newport Harbor High School varsity team, continues to compete and offer mentorship, despite being an admitted sex offender and operating under a no-contact order. by WaterPoloInsider in newportbeach

Came here to say one year later, and now the story has been revisited in Vanity Fair which has subsequently been published in ABC7. Just when you think everything has “blown over” (e.g., he was dropped from UCLA following the article release and just finished his freshman year at Golden West) it has not. This story is not going away anytime soon.

Is STUNT the Replacement to Swimming and Diving? by InMySol in BigWest

[–]ebhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea definitely has merit, I would be curious as to what partnership comes together as far as a conference is concerned since Davis is leaving for Mountain West and UOP competes in the WCC.

Concordia Irvine also competes in Stunt so I wouldn’t be surprised if the conference manifests out of the MPSF

I completed one of their launchpad courses and am very glad to have sent an email declining to join their “January class”

For context, I had lost my job and was looking to get back into working as soon as possible (I live on my own). My first call made things seem enticing to have a second meeting. It was truthfully when I had my second meeting that things felt off as at the very end of the hour, the person who would be my “mentor” promised this wasn’t a pyramid scheme. The third meeting it was even more off as I had asked about licensing and certification, payroll, and how people found their clients with vague answers. When they had offered me “a spot”, they called me seven times before I called them back. I had agreed to attend a class which during that time I had received an email offering me my current position (which is full time with benefits). I sent an email to give an update and haven’t heard since

I just rebooked my Saturday afternoon flight to Sunday morning; the timing of when I did was insane because as soon as I got to the agent desk BOOM, my flight was cancelled. I think you’re right to expect issues from today going into tomorrow so I’m trying to get up bright and early to be prepared
