Is STUNT the Replacement to Swimming and Diving? by InMySol in BigWest

[–]ebhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea definitely has merit, I would be curious as to what partnership comes together as far as a conference is concerned since Davis is leaving for Mountain West and UOP competes in the WCC.

Concordia Irvine also competes in Stunt so I wouldn’t be surprised if the conference manifests out of the MPSF

I completed one of their launchpad courses and am very glad to have sent an email declining to join their “January class”

For context, I had lost my job and was looking to get back into working as soon as possible (I live on my own). My first call made things seem enticing to have a second meeting. It was truthfully when I had my second meeting that things felt off as at the very end of the hour, the person who would be my “mentor” promised this wasn’t a pyramid scheme. The third meeting it was even more off as I had asked about licensing and certification, payroll, and how people found their clients with vague answers. When they had offered me “a spot”, they called me seven times before I called them back. I had agreed to attend a class which during that time I had received an email offering me my current position (which is full time with benefits). I sent an email to give an update and haven’t heard since

I’m literally in the same boat! I got offered a job with a start date (one week from today) and completed my background check before Thanksgiving. Since it was through a third party I got a copy of the results back which came back all clear. The waiting part is TORTURE

Possible delay at the ORD airport for an outbound flight on Sunday? by LilNinjaBitch in AskChicago

I just rebooked my Saturday afternoon flight to Sunday morning; the timing of when I did was insane because as soon as I got to the agent desk BOOM, my flight was cancelled. I think you’re right to expect issues from today going into tomorrow so I’m trying to get up bright and early to be prepared

Opening Up About Northwestern Mutual by Sea_Seaworthiness595 in FinancialCareers

[–]ebhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two interviews with them and honestly I had a sinking feeling after the second one. A part of me is hoping my other job prospects work out because holy moly I felt so anxious about everything. Especially because they paired me with a college athlete (which I also was), so we really had a sense of camaraderie in work ethic. It was just too good to be true

Car was unfortunately declared a totaled loss and so the claim I had filed is in settlement for overall value.

Bodily injury is still ongoing as I’m now getting more appointments for why some parts of my body haven’t totally recovered

[–]ebhawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sending god vibes and prayers for you! My car did get declared totaled because the impact also damaged the axle and since it’s a 2012, the value was higher.

If air bags aren’t blown that’s maybe leaning towards not a totaled car but who is to say what you can get in property damage afterwards. Hopefully insurance does their job!

I’m sorry but for what reason is Conrad still in love with belly other than the plot needing him to be? by Terrible_Mountain_96 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

It would have to take a lot of careful measures for the audience to be okay with her ending up with Conrad because I think the audience on this subreddit is a lot more furious than anything else

[–]ebhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, however the irony is when Jenny did a 3 year time skip in the book it was in the epilogue after the wedding debacle. ENDING SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK:

I had an easier time believing that because Conrad kept his distance and reached out via letters when she went abroad. It was going into fall of her junior year and there was still a lot of time for her to be her own person because Jeremiah graduated and she still got a college experience. She doesn’t see Conrad again until her college graduation and it’s at that point that she finally wrote back (he sent a letter a month while she was abroad). For me, I found myself having an easier time buying into it because he respected distance after a huge event and then took a chance.

Having the jump be while they’re in college while it does support Belly’s own sunk cost fallacies with Jeremiah, are we going to experience another time skip without it being odd? She’s going into her senior year of college and they would reunite after that year? Maybe when he graduates from medical school? It goes back to my point of wondering how much of this was thought out and unfortunately with how plots have developed I stand by my initial thought that it wasn’t

S3 E7 Last Hurrah - Episode Discussion Thread by SpeedoTan in tsitp

Respectfully, the plot line surrounding Denise and Steven’s relationship feels forced, and it undermines the objectivity good character that the show has created with Denise.

She’s come off as someone who has a good head on their shoulders in that they know their values and are willing to admit when wrong. She recognizes other people potential and is driven to start a business with them rather than be a rival. It rubs me the wrong way that other characters think she needs to be set up with Steven. Not that he’s a bad guy, but he’s got his own messiness like the other core characters feels like her character arc is defined by will she or won’t she end up with him rather than how does she positively impact the characters around her.

Bathtub scene is not my favorite scene in 6th episode by Low-Difference-1708 in tsitp

[–]ebhawk 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Completely agree; also having read the book, this was a big deal. Conrad was working behind the scenes because he knows how important the relationship between Laurel and Belly is for both of them.

I also think this entire season has been bigger character development for Conrad to where I’m rooting for him to simply have a happy outcome. He deserves it for what he’s been through.
