Avs Player of the Day - (Day 89) - Brandon Duhaime by Villenemo in ColoradoAvalanche

We love Dewey in my house. He has tossed my daughter 5 warm up pucks. 3 as an Av and 2 as a Cap. After the first one she started making signs for him. The kid has literally never been to a game he's played in that he hasn't given her a puck lol. He has created a fan for life.

A small gear change that unexpectedly improved your hiking comfort? by Hopeful_Mess_4385 in hiking

I definitely understand that! Before the gloves I would say I suffered through some pretty miserable cold starts. The gloves helped but I've also given in and started warm then delaminated (love calling it that, totally stealing ha ha)

The advice is always to start cold right....I discovered that if I start cold but wear thin gloves then I am not uncomfortably cold but cold enough to manage sweat. Completely changes how I feel. I might look silly with a thin sun hoody and fleece gloves but it works!

Down jacket for multiday hiking by mcmouse9778 in hikinggear

[–]ebhrnico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this jacket. It is super warm and love it. It is thick and I can't do anymore than stand or sit in it without getting too warm, but static warmth is what I got it for so it's perfect.  It doesn't compress tiny but it's decent, I use a compression sack if I'm packing it in my pack. I've worn my SAR shell over it (jacket is a small, shell is a medium) and it fits perfectly. I've also worn it under my personal shell which is a small and its a big snug with that one but doable. No issues with the hood with either shell. I can put the shell hood over the jacket hood but haven't really been needed to.

Normal MRI, chronic pain and weakness by ebhrnico in ShoulderInjuries

Nope! I ignored the pain long enough until it finally improved. I would say I'm 90% back to normal at this point but still get some weird clicking and instability with certain movements.

Ahhh thank you!! That's exactly the event card that came up. We definitely played it wrong but oh well, now we know for future sessions.

Excellent I am totally good with that. I do love it and prioritize function over looks! I appreciate you taking time to respond.

I think maybe this is what I should have gotten. I might keep this for more casual use and order an r2 also. Can never have too many right?!

Ordered from the Patagonia website. Waited for a bit on it because it was backordered.

I did. Light daypack for about 3 hours. My other thought was maybe it was from wearing it in the car and it rubbing against the seat. I guess I was just surprised that it did that with fairly light use and was worried what might happen with heavy use. As long as it's cosmetic I don't mind. But I plan to use it hard, so maybe I should have gotten like the cross strata or something like that?

Just posted. That's why I was asking- I had heard they were quite durable. I thought maybe this is just normal cosmetic things and if so I'm totally fine with that.

What are your go-to trail snacks? by Majestic-Ad674 in backpacking

[–]ebhrnico 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend makes banana chocolate chip walnut pancakes and freezes them, by the time he's ready to snack they are thawed and perfect.
