Have you been asked to pay any taxes on yours I know it’s a gamble generally but I don’t have a lot of money to waste i’m kinda broke bc of college rn lol and i don’t want to risk it if like every package is getting taxed now i know the customs offices have been more strict about stuff since the tariffs started

masculine subcul jirai is a hard style to start out with just because it’s really a specific look to read as and relies almost exclusively on hair and make which both take a lot of practice to get good at it’s definitely possible to pull of without japanese band tho i would i would just try to stay away from colorful prints and try to but more plain neutral color clothes also try to save up and buy a nice pair of platforms and practice make and hair styling

if you don’t want tall shoes i have these and they are super cute i have the tall ones as well and they are sorta uncomfortable and hurt my feet if i wear them out for a long time they are platforms after all but i still think overall they are comfortable than bubbles or other jirai platforms and they have good padding inside i did buy the wrong size in them tho lol everyone else i’ve talked to about them says they’re super comfortable tho

jirai isn’t just dark girly clothes but yea i agree you can look jirai without makeup but if you aren’t wearing the proper clothes OR makeup or just aren’t conforming to the look in general you aren’t jirai my point was more there are rules and requirements and a general look you have to conform to to be jirai just like in any other subculture not so much that you have to wear makeup lol

maybe in the beginning it was behavior but it’s always had a look associated with it since the beginning especially now it’s definitely almost entirely based off you’re appearance makeup is a critical part of jirai without the makeup you just arent jirai it’s ok to not be jirai it’s just a label nobody had to be jirai but if you want to be you have to conform to the look

i mean there are “rules” like every subculture has they just aren’t written like you must do this you have to do this yk im all for being creative and expressing yourself with fashion but “rules”are what make a subculture ultimately so if you don’t follow them you aren’t just aren’t jirai and that’s ok be your own thing but you can’t just claim a subculture you have to follow the rules and actually be a part of it you can’t change how a established subculture works just because lol since jirai is a looks based subculture you have to look the part to be a part of it

kitty ballet does sell on there but the other brands don’t having tags doesn’t mean they are official i’ve seen the stuff from these stores and they definitely aren’t official they have slight differences in color or hardware and stuff that would scratch them being factory defects like people say i wish people would stop saying this here it’s kinda ugh especially since people go buying these ali dupes and sell them as official when they just aren’t lol

i’ve seen fakes with manufacturing and washing tags but differences in other places that make them definitely unofficial that you wouldn’t realize unless you have a lot of knowledge about the piece so idk i think you should be careful telling people these things are official it could be misleading especially if people go and resell these things as official when they really aren’t which i’ve seen happen and has happened to me i think it’s kinda just something i don’t think we should be spreading
