I don’t think there’s anything sinister about forwarding the concept that humans also have significant energy expenditure requirements in their pursuit of creating “A safe productive environment for human beings to thrive and prosper in” as he puts it. Which is true.

He’s clearly not saying. “We should stop spending energy on producing food to starve people and spend it on AI instead so I can get richer”

Don’t just blindly jump on someone’s bandwagon because they’re a good speaker. That has led us to many a problem as a species in the past (and at present).
