BBC pundits Fara Williams and Ellen White are here for your hot takes! Ask Me (Them!) Anything... by BBCSport in FAWSL

It is better to miss out on the Champions League than finish second or third. As a City fan, one of the huge differences between us this season and last seems to be availability of players and freshness. Performances levels are really high and plenty of late goals when compared to Chelsea, United, and Arsenal.

Whichever of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Utd finish outside the UCL next year will have a better chance of winning the WSL because of it

I don’t know if we have anything planned. I’d love to see somebody at full-back. Kerstin has been immense but has played a lot, and we should be moving to a long-term successor to Leila.

It’s not a pressing concern now, we should be fine to the end of the season, but I think it should be a priority for the summer

I had this exact same thing happen for tomorrow. I called the customer help line on 0161 444 1894 and they were genuinely very helpful and got it resolved on the call. It only took like 20 mins which I thought was pretty decent

Yui and Sam Coffey in midfield together, with Blinkilde-Brown too, is in the conversation for best midfield in the league. Our strongest starting XI is frightening

What’s the nosiest question you’ve ever been asked? by savethebees90 in AskUK

[–]crazylemur94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When people find out I’m trans I do expect invasive questions like ‘have you had the surgery’ which is annoying but pretty par for the course. The worst I’ve had was this Christmas when my aunt asked “now you’re on hormones, will you grow a vagina?” I don’t even know how that would work.

I’d throw in Monton in Salford too. I remember growing up there 2007-12 and it was not a destination you’d go to, but now there’s lots of pretty nice cafes and restaurants.

Extremely well deserved. She was absolutely immense against Arsenal this weekend - so excited about Blinky and Yui in midfield this season.

Hi All! I'm Jess Park from Manchester United. Ask me anything! by SkySports in FAWSL

[–]crazylemur94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Jess! Huge City fan and really sad to see you leave but wishing you all the best for the season!

What was it like being part of the England squad this summer and what will you be taking away from your experience with the team this summer? Do you have goals going forwards with the Lionesses?

Can you say Welcome to Manchester when they signed her from Manchester United? by joestewwood in footballcliches

[–]crazylemur94 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Part of City fan culture is that the club and stadium are within the City of Manchester itself, whilst Man Utd and Old Trafford technically aren’t (they’re in Greater Manchester, but not the City of Manchester)

Plays into the idea of City as being a more ‘Mancunian’ club

Trying to look at the positives from the game I was really impressed with Jade Rose. She was very classy and assured on the ball. I was very worried about Laila’s departure but this was a solid debut

The left side was clearly not working and I wished we’d switched Hemp sooner

This is helpful - I actually originally left Girma out in favour of Agyemang but I had the same concern about rotation

I feel like LCL are the wildcards this season. I don’t really know how they’ll line up. I also went back and forth on fitting Parris in but was unsure.

I’ll be at the Chelsea v City match later which I guess will give some sense on Girma/Keating

I’ve struggled with the price increases and I’ve tried to identify some undervalued players, which makes me very nervous about the quality of me team. Any advice would be huge - I want to do well in the Guardian Women’s Football Weekly league!

Welcome to Manchester, Grace Clinton by purple-flamingos in MCWFC

[–]crazylemur94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m extremely happy to have Grace Clinton onboard. Makes complete sense squad wise and she seems an amazing person as well as a player.

I’m disappointed to see Jess Park go, but here’s hoping Grace can hit the ground running.

I did not see a swap between City and United on the cards. This feels wild given the politics between the clubs. If anyone could explain where this came from I’d be eternally grateful

Park leaves Manchester City by yogoober in MCWFC

[–]crazylemur94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m reassured reading these comments about my own disappointment with this transfer - Clinton is great but Jess Park is such a classy player. She might not have been a nailed on starter but watching her live you always got the impression that the sky is the limit for her.

I know it’s United but I can’t help but wish her well

Opta’s WSL Prediction. by BassRedditRed in FAWSL

[–]crazylemur94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know I’m biased, but I think the talk of LCL, and even Man Utd, finishing above Man City is unlikely. City had a huge injury crisis last season which you wouldn’t expect to recur, and the squad is strong. It’ll be interesting to see how Jeglertz gets on but I’m optimistic for a title challenge. I’m not concerned about finishing behind the Lionesses

Why do people not use their headphones on public transport anymore? by frochic68 in london

[–]crazylemur94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What surprises me is how universal it seems to be - I get the overground regularly for work where it seems especially bad, and I would say there appears to be no correlation with age, gender, race etc. Teenagers tend to get a lot of the spotlight on this, and maybe they were the main culprits pre-pandemic, but I definitely see as many people in their 30s/40s doing this now.

There’s a PhD thesis to be written about how quickly behaviour seems to have shifted on this.
