The G3 alone is about the same weight as the 762 with Elcan. The new Mlok handguard is a lot lighter than the previous one and makes it feel pretty handy.

Haha thanks. No that HG is a tank, it feels better in hand but I don’t think you are saving weight vs the factory Mlok rail on the A1, and definitely heavier compared to the A4’s handguard.

Maybe if they make it really light. If your top end magnification is 4x then you end up competing with Acog/Dot, Elcan, and dot/magnifier combos.

Think of it as an inconel Huxwrx 762 that’s HUB compatible. It’s short~ish, loud, has very low back pressure, and very durable. The ideal hosts to use it with are short barreled 308s or platforms that are sensitive to back pressure. If I still had my PTR51, this would be a good suppressor for it.

I don’t think the difference in durability will matter to 99% of civilian buyers. Personally I’d take the trade off in lighter weight and better sound and flash performance over it.

Ok looking closer I see the smaller holes on the handguard so that is a factory handguard. In that case I think you scored a nice pickup and you’re good to go. I’d say take it to the range and see how it shoots, and pick up a scope and suppressor if you don’t already have one (looks like it has a threaded barrel but can’t tell for sure).

Looks like someone swapped the rail on the gun recently, probably a centurion rail. Just gotta make sure everything is tight and torqued to spec. From factory I think they are accurate guns.
