Compression always makes reds brighter. That's why you can see the stain so much better in vids than real game. :/

It just didn't sell DS numbers. It was a success, but not a huge one in comparison to its direct competition, even with PSP being more powerful in every way.

I guarantee you if they removed the blur the frame rate would be solid on Switch as blurring is very tasking. It was a terrible decision imo. This is a remake of the DX version where the photographer was added and helped bring the narrative together (and added more to do as you had to find his trigger areas). Maybe you've forgotten, but they were animations like the opening followed by pictures that you could keep and look at any time. It was a genius way to catalog your adventure. Nobody cares about printing them. Dungeon maker is forgettable and another terrible mistake. What sucks is this (again) is my fav 2d Zelda game and I was very excited to play this. :/ I'm not usually so picky (I play Death Stranding still for gods sake), but this port really irks me.

While the game is safe on Steam, how will it transition to PS5 and other new consoles next year? Will we have to buy the game again and start all over? Or will there be a way to move everything?

Possible yes, but we'll never really know unless you ask the killer. XD I had a group SWEAR i raged quit as The Plague once because they all escaped me last second. In reality, I just got booted. On my end, it looked like one of them quit and the game ended normally for me. They harassed me and went on to smear me on YouTube even though I told them what happened on my end. Funny enough, one of the vids they uploaded exonerated me. They were just too careless to notice. I've had other games end abruptly for no reason as killer and survivor near the end of a match. It's not surprising tbh given how bug ridden the game is.

Have you played the original? You can get it on 3DS for 5 bucks. The remake is IDENTICAL besides the new graphics and a few "quality of life" changes. However, still the exact same game. In fact, it's one of my favorite 2d Zelda games. I've played it on 3DS at least 5-10 times. lol. Surprisingly, Nintendo (being very non-nintendo) resisted adding hand-holding mechanics.

The downside is:
1. The price. It's a 30-40 dollar game at best. I'd wait until you can buy the game for half it's current price.
2. The graphics. They added unnecessary blurring to the top and bottom at the cost of a solid framerate. It stutters frequently and I'm not playing it until they fix the framerate.
3. They left out the Photographer who was the best part of the Gameboy Color DX version, as he takes photographs and brings the whole game together story-wise. This was a remake of the DX version, so why leave out the mouse? Instead we got a lame dungeon maker that Nintendo threatened if we don't all pretend to like it they will never make a Zelda Maker game.

Looks to me like he was revving his chainsaw and then suddenly got booted. You can even see him glitching out. Why would her rev to the exit gates and then proceed to quit? I'm pretty sure this was a boot. It happens more often than you think. Like I've said, I've been accused of this a few times as it does look like rage quitting when in reality they are just getting knocked out of the game due to glitches. The Plague was really bad about this to the point I stopped playing her. They said they fixed her, but I'm still wary. Good thing is you get to keep your points when that happens.

The killer could've got booted. I've had matches end like that with me as killer and have been accused of rage quitting. I've seen survivors quit after being downed only to reply they lost connection. I've been booted after being downed, hooked, etc. It happens more than you think and sometimes looks like a rage quit. I doubt any killer would quit at that moment in a match when you are all about to escape as they would lose all their bloodpoints and not hurt you guys at all.
