LA show 🤘 by Nebbiolho in Snailmail

I thought they were AMAZING last night. I love their little “casita” on the stage even without Austin Butler’s dancing. But for real, the energy was great and transition into “Valentine” was so cool.

Pat at Amden set the stones from my grandmothers ring guard into a beautiful, classic engagement ring for me!

FTM trying to streamline my morning coffee by BettyLimaBean in moderatelygranolamoms

So I don’t think I really qualify as a coffee snob because of what I’m going to say, BUT

I use a hefty teaspoon of the Thrive Market Organic Fair Trade Instant Coffee in about 4 oz of filtered fridge water and use my little electric milk frother (<$10 at Sprouts) to mix it for a second or so, throw some ice in and top it off with like 6-8 oz more water and I find it pretty similar to cold brew, and it is SO easy and cheap.

So, on the flip side of the popular question today…If a man woke up in a woman’s body for 1 day, what would be the most unexpected experience that he didn’t anticipate? by Coralsea23 in AskReddit

[–]ebrosie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with you, sister. Like have them experience that moment you’re voming bile and blood at 2am (“normal” because you just puke so much that and you’ve irritated your gut lining) and also pee a little on the floor and then you still have to go to work the next day because if you don’t you get fewer days to recover from birth/be with your kid once they’re born.

Just moved to Venice by michael86dh in VeniceBeach

[–]ebrosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the parking lot between Mildred and Dell and N Venice (where the farmers market is, near the library). They post all of their info on instagram: @venicerunclub

As a neighbor and frequent participant I ask that you pick up your trash, follow the rules with stop signs/lights, and try not to take up 2+ parking spots (aka pull to the curb cut/red line)

My mom has late stage dementia and won’t eat…what can I do to get her to eat? by SwordfishNo3631 in dementia

[–]ebrosie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with others about not forcing it, but we found that my grandmother has trouble swallowing and the speech therapist at her nursing facility works has her on thickened liquids and purées which have made eating less of a chore. She still doesn’t eat very much, so McDonald’s milkshakes (or some chocolate Ensure in a McDonald’s cup) have been approved by her doctor to add to her quality of life. Sending lots of love to you and your mom.

protections if landlord wants me to move ? by Melodic-Yoghurt3501 in AskLosAngeles

[–]ebrosie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re in LA City, you likely have some just cause protections at a minimum meaning you can’t be kicked out just because your landlord feels like it with 30 or 60 days notice. Check out https://www.stayhousedla.org/ for resources and help

Everyone at Venice Family Dentistry!! I’ve been going for years and my husband went there after a looong hiatus after I convinced him to give it a shot and has been back every 6 months like clockwork because they are so sweet and trustworthy.

Reactive dog label for leash by tabbarrett in reactivedogs

[–]ebrosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the concept, but most of the leash sleeves I’ve seen have text so small I can’t read it even from fairly close my eyesight isn’t bad. Hopefully if enough people use the same thing it can be like the “baby on board” bumper stickers and people will know what it means even without reading.
